- In this lecture, we will analyse the Political changes that took place in Western Europe against the backdrop of Enlightenment. We will study Prominent political thinkers like Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Voltaire, Montesqieu and Diderot whose political ideas when spread among the masses culminated into 2 most political events of the time i.e. French Revolution and American War of Independence.

I was confused earlier, shall I chose Sociology or Eng Literature or Philosophy for my Masters and UGC NET, but after attending your lectures I am fully confident that I chose truest subject according to my interest, I surely love Philosophy a lot but that I read/study from different books especially spiritual philosophy like J Krishnamurthy, Osho, practice Vipassana and similarly many other sources, only to gain spiritual freedom that is very personal subject for me, never discuss with others. But to live in this society and also for academic purpose and also ceding with my personal purpose of life Sociology is my subject for sure.

There are certain telegram groups which you could join in which people peer review each other's answers... Also, there are some initiatives which have launched answer writing programs which are quite affordable. . Try to explore them!!

Sir how do i write down these things ? It's too much here and there and it's difficult to find concrete definition of topics in the video. It would be helpful if you give small definition of concepts after or before elaborating topics. Because it seems like I am going through a story but not getting concrete things to write down. Thanks
You need to make running notes out of these lectures.... See the "Sociology Strategy and Approach video" in the uploads..... I have discussed how to make notes out of these lectures.
Also, I firmly believe that those preparing for upsc need to get out of school/college mentality of having readymade notes of others.
Best approach is to make your own notes based on conceptual comprehension and interlinkages..... Also, one needs to keep in mind that the syllabus of upsc is so much that one can't remember concrete definitions (it's impossible).... Upsc is all about comprehension, concepts and interlinkages.... If you could write your answers with a conceptual understanding and from multiple dimensions and interlinkages, you could get good marks.... Also, whatever definition or content is written on board, that's sufficient for upsc.
