I went to the Bad Omens/Dayseeker concert and Rory has AMAZING pipes. His voice is so captivating and sounds so fricken perfect live. Man, between him and Noah, they made it the best concert I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to a lot.
After I saw you spend an entire 2 weeks on Bad Omens I knew that Dayseeker was going to be next because these two bands toured together and share a huge fanbase. I'm 46 and I think Metalcore is the greatest genre to emerge, out of Nu-metal and post hardcore.
Damn! The tone of his voice is insane. Never heard of them before, but now they are my new fave too. This is why I will never unsubscribe from your channel. I’m always discovering new bands here, not to mention you’re a cool dude with a great sense of humor and you always have a way of keeping things positive.
Best part about this band is the meaning and thoughtful honesty behind the lyrics. Everything on Sleeptalk, especially the new one Dark Sun, has something to offer if you look deeper. Rory is such a fantastic writer, and lyricist.
Rory's ability to sing a melody and a scream in the same song and flip back and forth verse to verse is a RARE talent. He even works in some vibrato and runs. It's just so good
I've been saying Rory has one of the best voices in the gig for years. These guys have some range, you can get heavy with The Color Black or a bit lighter with songs like Dark Sun or Dreamstate from their newest album (which is where Without Me comes from) - which is dedicated to the recent death of Rory's dad. Of course the 'gatekeepers' shit all over Rory for making an album without as much intensity... Songs on Dark Sun like Neon Grave are quite sad when you know the message behind the music.
Saw Dayseeker live in 2019 with Wage War, Like Moths to Flames, and Polaris, and as soon as I saw them back then I knew they would blow up and be huge. They were the opening band, the undercard, and still they blew every other band out of the water. And that's not because the other bands are bad live, they were just that good. Everyone saying Burial Plot, Neon Grave, and Crooked Soul are all spot on.

Please do crying while your dancing next. Every reactor does neon grave and without you, which are great songs. But Crying While Your Dancing is one of those songs you only hear every few years. Absolutely floored me when I first heard it.

I understand the jamming with glasses part. I like to jam. Thankfully I was in bumper to bumper traffic due to an accident once. But I jammed out to Dayseeker too hard and my glasses went flying off my face. Took me a minute to find because I’m a small rung above Velma from scooby doo without my glasses. So bummed I couldn’t see them and Bad Omens on tour. The vocal ability of Noah and Rory is just ridiculous and that’s all in one show. That’d be a great time

One of the cool things I think Dayseeker does in their videos is show the vocalist's actual facial expression when he's belting. Most bands will have a belting section and the singer will be like whispering on the video. It's more like.. transparent? I don't know how else to put it lol
