The service guy is very informative, but Tara really knows the right questions to get the nuggets of wisdom!
Oh thanks!!
Don't you wish they was this informative like them while buying applyince they only want to make sale and usually say anything for a sale. The bigger the sale, the better. But this video helps and is good to know. My washer and dryer and even my nice coffee pot I buy used. That's truly the best way if you find a great deal and don't want top of the line. I love the marketplace for that reason.
I worked for Whirlpool. We built all of the brand's on our lines, the same hands, the same, designers, the same product parts makers, etc. The only difference in the appliance besides any obvious upgrade, is the name brand we tagged it with at the end. Whirlpool quality went downhill after they moved production t Mexico.
Speed queen for washer and dryer American made and they are workhorses. Intended for commercial nothing fancy but I stand by it for sure-6-8 loads a day for years and going strong.
Iâm nosy and curious.. why 8 loads a dayâWhen my kid was small and in cloth diapers I didnât even have to do 8 loads a week.
Heâs the laundry guy for the NY Jets lol đ
Big familes/households or alot of dirty clothes@@ruthdennisKnits
The tv2000 is by far the best modern washer. Basically a old fashioned machine but remade. Mechanical timer too. The only downside is that u can only get it shipped cuz its a commercial machine
I didn't know Tappan was still around. My Tappan oven is original to my home and will be 50 years old next year!
Great!!!
I have the Frigidaire front-load washing machine and dryer. I hate them. The washer leaks, doesnât clean all that great, and weâve replaced the heating element in the dryer four times in eight years. Next time it goes out, Iâm getting rid of them both.
On the other hand, my 1948 Western Holly stove still works great! đ
So jealous you have that stove
She loves her glass top. It keeps her from catching things on fire đ 5:38
AMEN SISTER!!! Well...not sure it helps but maybe it helps some....
I love glass top stove. Now the women that used their canner on it that was to much heat and it broke.
@@LivingOnADime Same đđ
I am not a fan of the glass tops. Gonna switch back to the coil style. I have had both a Samsung and Frigidaire in the past 5 years- Samsung ran hot always a boil and never a simmer. Frididaire run cool and takes for ever to boil anything. PLUS the glass does get scratched, burnt on food is difficult to clean etc. I was gentle with mine in cleaning but still the glass top did not look great after 5 years. I'd rather have a less attractive stove and better cooking/cleaning experience.
I have a Westinghouse electric range/oven. I have been using it since 2004. I do not know when it was made. I am very grateful that it still works.
I have a kitchenaide fridge & love it ! We bought it as a scratched floor model but never found any visible scratches on it ! We did get a good deal compared to some other brands we looked at but it was not 10K for sure.
Wonderful video - thanks so much!! Heâs right about the LG front loading washer & dryer, weâve had ours for almost 15 years, LOVE them!! Only had maintenance on the dryer once, highly recommend!
TARA!!! Thank you for this! My daughter lives in Wyoming and with 6 children, they needed a reliable washer and dryer. I forwarded her this video, and it really helped them make their decision! Speed Queen on the way!! Thanks again!
I wish we had this video when we were buying our new microwave, oven and dishwasher a few years ago! But I think we did ok. This is certainly good to know for future reference as we will be in the market for a new fridge and cook top in the next few years.
Also, we purchased an LG front loader washer and dryer 11 years ago when we moved in this our house. They are work horses and still going strong!
Moved... Miss my gas stove especially when power goes out, could still have my coffee
Wonderful video! I have a Bosch dishwasher which I love. It replaced a Kitchen Aid that was broken more than it worked. The final straw was when the went and leaked water into my basement and warped my kitchen floor.
I loved my Amana bottom freezer fridge!
Speaking from my experience I agree with you on the LG washing machine and dryer. I have had the top loader LG washer and the front load dryer for 10 years and they are still going strong. Just purchased a LG front load washing machine for my elderly mothers cottage we built on my property and I like them as well. I purchased all the Whirlpool appliances you spoke about for the cottage kitchen. The ice maker in the door of the refrigerator makes the ice but I already canât get it to dispense. The water dispenser works but ice maker locks up. Thank you for sharing.
So much helpful information. Thank you for these videos. My Whirlpool fridge is 15 years old.
Excellent advice. Also the fact that vinegar and water can be used to clean appliances is awesome. I always ( as an adult anyway) thought white vinegar does have mild antibacterial properties. That's awesome too. I think I will stick with vinegar and water for the bathroom sink as the final touch after the initial cleaning. Everything ought to sparkle even more afterwards. :) Refreshing smell. TAWRA, Can't wait to see your new kitchen when it's completed, it will surely be beautiful and highly functional too !!! HIGH FIVE TO PISTOL ALSO !
I love my GAS Stove and GAS Oven combo, but I had electrical issues with it, it's a Whirlpool. The Whirlpool Microwave we also bought with it at the time doesn't evenly heat the food, and sometimes doesn't heat the food, so it's getting ready to go. We bought a GE dishwasher, it's okay, but at the time during rona, they didn't have any Bosch available, the GE is so so, not great, just so so. Good luck, I'm happy for you guys Tawra and family. Blessings to you all.
I just had to replace my 20 year old dishwasher âčïž. I loved my Miele†I replaced it with a Kitchenaid and so far Iâm happy. đđ». My local repairman recommended it, Iâm in the northeast for freferance
Informative!! Thank you. Additionally, regarding front controls on stoves/ranges, I do not like them because it makes the rear areas harder to clean. I am 5' 5" and I discovered while in a vacation rental that it kills my lower back to have to lean over those controls to get any leverage to clean the areas at the rear of any cooktop or the backsplash behind them.
We have a Kenmore dryer that came with the house when we bought it 26 years ago. It's still works well.
I have been waiting for this. I, too, need all new appliances.
Thank you for these videos--I'm about to buy my first home & am a junkie for researching this stuff
I have a Frigidaire gallery induction convection stove. Heats up great, never had a problem. Was $1100. Best appliance. In June 2018,Ii had to replace washer, refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Lg fridge, Frigidaire stove, kitchen aid dishwasher, lg washer. The lg dryer has been going for 16 years. Good luck on your appliance purchase adventure.
Fantastic information! I've been waiting for this video since you first mentioned it over a month ago. I bought a fixer upper and have held off on replacing the range and built in microwave but I did have to buy a fridge and washer/dryer. I bought a brand new top freezer whirlpool fridge from a scratch and dent store for $200. The same one from Costco that sells for $800+. I also splurged on a GE front load stacking set. Hopefully that one holds up for a few years.
I'm in love with my Bosch dishwasher!!!!!
I love my Bosch dishwasher.
Thank you !!!!!
Great points about built in microwaves. Thank you!
We have had our GE over the range microwave for 33 years!
Same ...â€
I have a miele dishwasher, when I bought my house the previous owner pointed it out to me. I had no idea what she meant, but now I know it's so good, it's so quiet I forget it's on. Very informative video, after buying Samsung, which I regret I have concluded to buy old school American , I hope my maytag washer never breaks down because I hate the new front load washers.
Thank you for this, I need a new dishwasher!
Went thru 3 washers in 4 years. Front load didn't clean the dirt, top load broke in a year..went with speed queen. Best device so far. Looking for a new dishwasher...cant trust the sales people, they have a quota to meet. This info is fantastic. Thank you thank you
have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher and love it... Had a Miele in my last house and it was great. Couldn't get one during covid but I find my kitchen aid dries better.
I hate front load washers and will never in my life own another one. It was nothing g but trouble, didn't use enough water and after awhile it stunk and so did my clothes. I bought a top loader and have been happy with it. I have a kitchen aid dishwasher for 17 yrs now. Never once had to repair it. Just replaced my 17 yr old Fridgidaire fridge. It still works, never had to repair it either. Didn't want to wait and be caught without a fridge.
How many times I've said to MYSELF NEVER AGAIN front loader washer.
For the dishwasher, I use a vinegar with blue food coloring for my dw rinse compartment! I've used it for more than 8 years and have had no problems.! Actually my repairman said it's the best idea ever!
would you need to even use the blue food coloring though?
Me too.
Why food coloring?
@The Canny Cajuns well, the main reason I use it is so that I can see when the compartment is full when I'm refilling it.
I would be curious what he thinks of extended warranties on Whirlpool appliances
I have all Maytag appliances. Had them a little over a year and I love them! Made in USA!!!!!
The Maytag washer 4505 is junk. I hate mine and the dryer is junk too. I am stuck with it bc Lowes only stands by their applainces for 48 Hours, yeah that is how much confidence they have in their products.
I have a Miele dishwasher.Love Love Love. Also have an Electrolux front-load an matching dryer. Had since 2009. No maintenance on them.
I also have an Electrolux front load washer and dryer. No problems - knock on wood - in 5 years and I love them. I'm waiting for delivery of my new GE Slide-In gas stove. Reviews are great and I'm surprised he didn't mention GE. GOOD REVIEW!
Very helpful & informative! Thanks! Phew, I'm glad we don't use Windex & only use a white vinegar & water solution for cleaning! Sounds like we'll stick to that! đ„°Blessings from South Australiađđš
Thank you ! This was very informative. Canât wait to see your kitchen all done. I know you canât either. đ
My momâs old stove died. I went to Costco and bought two induction cook things like they use for demonstrations to make people buy things. I paid $60 for each of them. Iâve been using them for five years now and I love them. I could never afford to buy an induction range totally. But God I love my little induction tops. Fantastic.
I love the way glass top stoves look, but theyâre not recommended if youâre going to pressure can.
I pressure can on mine all the time..
What about Bosch refrigerators?? Anyone have any info or perspective to share about Bosch?? Would be highly appreciated!!
We have a new Melia dishwasher and I love it! The price was good it looks good it works great and I can't hear it. Mine was 4 or 5 hundred
I have a kenmore washers deep fill for 6 years and I only had to replace the front suspension twice in the back once. I think itâs pretty good one. I had a kitchen fridge refrigerator for about 18 year and I couldnât get that thing to break down for nothing.
Agree with plastic top on whirlpool dishwashers. Hate ours canât wait to replace it
Would love your opinion on drawer microwaves....I'm considering one for my new kitchen island.
Have Viking appliances and my kitchen aid refrigerator just love the commercial
I am with you, I only wash appliances with soapy water.
Thank you for bringing this knowledge to us.
Frigidaire won't sell me another fridge. They spent ~$18k in 2013 cleaning up a mess their Gallery fridge, side-by-side, dispensed water through the night 18 days after they delivered it. They paid my homeowners insurance to replace all my downstairs floors, upstairs carpets and painted my downstairs after 2-3 weeks of drying everything out. Nightmare of a purchase.
Wow. Iâm so glad they took responsibility! Not many companies will be accountable for their screw ups these day!
@@Dani._ella initially they didnât take responsibility. My Home ownerâs insurance had to get reimbursed by subrogation as Frigidaireâs insurance didnât want to pay my insurance for the claim.
Here to find out about dishwashers, but want to throw in "yes" for the Panasonic microwave. We've had two in about 15 years. The original had the push "button" that opens the door break off the mechanism, but we just caught it in hand as it tried to fly off and used anyway because it was so reliable. Eventually replaced it with another. It's been excellent for us.
Great video and such helpful information! Thanks đ
I agree about microwaves above stoves. I'm 5'2" and the microwave up high is a BAD idea for me. Also, I like that open space above the stove for being able to cook more easily. I'm willing to sacrifice some counter space and have the microwave sit on the counter. i've got a design in my head for remodelling my house and making a special place for the microwave, but I know it will never happen. It's OK to dream though!
I am getting the Animal washer and dryer I can't wait .
I bought an LG 4000 clothes washer so far its great.
Our whirlpool fridge is 12 years old. No problems. Ice maker still works đ
I have a Panasonic microwave I purchased at Costco about 7 years. I love it. Heats food quickly.
Omg, we have a Panasonic freestanding microwave we've had since shortly Before our daughter was born. She just turned 39!!! Still working, just need to replace the bulb which we found on Amazon.
Love, love, love it!!!
@@shirleywetherington8457 Oh wow, thatâs great!
Me too. I've only had mine for 2 years, but no problems at all. Hope it lasts many more!
I like my panosanic stand alone too.
Super helpful information! Thank you.
Thanks for all the great info!
Thank you! This was a great video. I have a couple questions, what about top load Speed Queens and the dryers? Has he heard of Artic Wind refrigerators? Back when they were hard to get I settled for an Artic Wind. UG worst decision ever. I hate it and well.... now have to save up enough $$$ to do something else in the future, but now I am armed with great information. I do love my Speed queen! Also, I inherited my Grandmother's Chambers stove. THE BEST EVER! Love it.
Loved the video! Very informative. You didnât mention the ZLINE gas range. I purchased one several years ago, havenât had a problem with it, but I was just wondering if itâs a good gas stove, or if the repair man had anything negative to say on that brand of gas stove. Would love for you to ask him about that brand.
Thank you for allowing us to hear this great information !!
I have a bosh fridge 800 and bosh dishwasher 800 and a bosh range love them all
Do you have the bosch induction? If so, which one and how do you like it?
Is your fridge the counter depth? Thanks đ
I don't have the induction cuz I couldn't find the size or if I did find the size not the same color as all my appliances are black stainless
This is great! Thank you â€
Than you so much for all the info.
Yay! Thank you.
Thank You for sharing all of this useful information with all of us!
Great video.... great information!! Thanks!
Thank you guys đđ» đ
Maytag commercial top loader or speed queen top loader washer is the best.
Iâm on the hunt for a dishwasher. Thanks, for all you do.
Kitchen Aide is best!.
THANK YOU !!!
We ended up going LGS1 we research we found out whirlpool owns most companies
Good to know! Thank you.
A few months ago my whirlpool dishwasher broke for the second time in 3 years. We could not get the part for it for a month. We decided to go with a GE this time. I have all GE in my kitchen bc it was affordable. I hope they last. đđ
Such great info!
When we built in 2016 we bought Maytag for everything but the microwave. It is Whirlpool.. We wanted KitchenAid but went ouch on the price.
Thanks for this information!
I agree with all said about the Maytag men I got that washing machine and is being strong for 10 years and I used every single day only thing I donât like is that I wish it will load more water other than that I like it.
THANK YOU
When we purchased our last washer and dryer, we could care less about what color or if they even matched, so we saved over $1000 dollars because we didn't care, our washer is white in color and our dryer is brown in color,
Iâd be interested in opinions on front load vibration issues when these are installed on first or second floor (ie not concrete floor like in basement or slab foundation).
Some good info, needs more detailed focus discussion about 2nd best options.
Any advice on Viking, Monogram, Subzero appliances ? Thanks
Love this.
These were a super great idea for a video. Very helpful! Thank you so much for doing this! God bless youâŁïž
You can still buy the basic Whirlpool dryer shown in the video. I got a very basic Whirlpool washer and dryer last year from Costco online super inexpensive. Less than 500 each. My washer and dryer are in the basement where no one sees them so no need for anything fancy.
This was awsome! Thanks so much!
Loved my Asko washer and dryer đ Dishwasher rocked. L G fridge is horrid! Compressors always break every few months. Never again!!
Miele is German and Asko is Swedish!
L G is horrible. My neice and I both were tricked by these brands.
This was very helpful - Thank You!!
Pretty accurate info except for Miele dishwashers, they are German, not Italian. And good luck finding one for the mentioned $900, because the cheapest ones start at about $1,300.
Took awhile to replace my 23 yr old stove. Finding an electric, white, coils, self-clean stove took forever. I didnât want all the fancy. Did find a GE but not the quality from what I had. Good with older Amana fridge and LG front load W & D. You have to do your research.
Thank you
Thank You đ đ
My 11 year old LG front loader is awesome still. I would like to replace the door gasket.
The over-the-oven microwaves also don't vent well enough, especially on top of gas stoves which need major ventilation. You really need a dedicated hood.
My favorite washing machine is electrolux.
I wish he had something to say about deep freezes and some of the new stuff from Japan, Korea, China, and Vietnam. I think Samsung are pretty good, not sure who makes LG or how he feels about those, but Iâm really curious about the Insignia. Theyâre very affordable and have almost 5 stars on Best Buy. Could you have him back and ask about foreign brands and specifically about deep freezes and also maybe talk about upright versus chest freezers, as well as frost-free versions?
There's a video about what not to buy. He didn't recommend top loaders at all. Only use the Speed Queen for a top loader.
I wish someone would sit down with an Aussie tech and talk about the brands available in Australia.
Was waiting for this one!
