The costs imparted upon all of us innocents has nothing to do with freedom but rather, the insane Climate Change policies enacted by G-7 nations and their intransigence toward admitting the error.
Reconsider things. A conflict in the East between Russia and a country that used to be part of the USSR and continues to this day to suffer third-world corruption and unreliability does not have any bearing on my liberties or livelihood as an American; nor would it affect any market prices here in America had Pres Biden not on his first day in office overturned the previous administration's wildly successful energy policies, which had (by the way) accomplished something every president in my lifetime has talked about but never delivered: energy independence.
If we were still independent in that sense, we in America could have kept in place the Trump-era sanctions on Nord Stream 2, which was an awfully pragmatic deterrent against Putin invading Ukraine, as his sole alternate pipelines for oil and gas run under that country and can easily be held hostage in the face of aggression like we're witnessing today.
And further: Trump made this selfsame speech more than 3 years ago. Word for word, basically. But incorrigible liberals here and abroad hated Trump so much, so irrationally, they couldn't support him in these very positions proclaimed with such passion in this video. So it'a only natural that, much to the chagrin of the EU and Biden and leftists worldwide, a Ukraine general who was being interviewed yesterday during a brief spell from fighting said:
"They wanted Trump out at any cost. They did. They wanted him to go at any cost. Well, we are that cost. The Ukrainian people fighting right now are that cost."

As an ex soldier myself my heart bleeds for all soldiers everywhere in the world. Many do not want to be where they are. It is , however , NOT in the conduct protocol of a true soldier to fight against citizens - that is cowardly and shameful. Any soldier doing that stops being a soldier and is a terrorist. And the free world has the right to fight terrorism anywhere in the world. I wish the leaders of the Ukraine would realize this and appeal to the free world to fight terrorism in their country.

We should then focus all our energies, 1 by 1, on evil, sick, cowardly, deranged, grandiose, ITS and do the same as what human kind is doing here with Putin. Enough is enough of autocrats. Autocrats and their weak, empty shell enablers should be crushed mercilessly. We should be relentless and not take our collective feet off the throats of evil. 1000's of years of human history should have taught us. My hope is that we stand up and destroy autocrats and rid the evil that is like a cancer on humanity.

Not a word about how Europe funded this war, ignored Ukraine since 2014 when Crimea was annexed and the separatist states were cultivated in eastern Ukraine, or Ukraine's pleas for membership since 2019.
This is a war over resources. Ukraine has lots of natural gas, learned of in 2012. Russia took Crimea for rights to the underwater deposits, and disrupted the Donbass and east Moldova to dissuade foreign companies from building infrastructure to extract natural gas from the shale deposits in those areas.
Ukraine having natural gas to sell would mean death to Russia, so Russia is disallowing them from doing so. But they won't mention that Europe has been buying their natural gas from Russia, literally funding Putin's war machine.

The steps being taken are admirable, and I understand the sentiment expressed in saying, "Freedom is priceless", but it is not a true statement in any way.
