God bless you Femi Falana (SAN) for your advocacy of Truth and good governance. I listened to Prof Soludo's democracy speech on June 12, 2024. He cited one of his research works, which showed a strong correlation between the practice of democracy and economic prosperity of Nations. Until Nigeria embraces the tenets of democracy and free and fair election, all the vogages of our ship of state is bound to shallows and miseries.

You just spoke the truth sir, that the Nigeria Govt. System is already dilapidated. So, until all the dilapidated structures are fix or corrected, things will get worsen in this country. What's written in the law has been contradicted to suit this wicked politicians and their generations. Imagine why can't they pay 105k/200k as minimum wage when they can afford to use govt. fund to buy luxury cars, buildings etc are they not part of the citizen, what makes them different. If Nigerian law prevails to punish embezzlement heavily in this country govt. will be able to pay even 200k minimum wages. And as (SAN) has said 100% increase of minimum wage should be done at some certain level while the % reduces at the top level simple. Lets tell our self the truth 100k national minimum wage cannot even be enough except been managed. So, i think for private sectors can be addressed with different policy based on their annual revenue.

I strongly agree with Femi Falana (SAN) that FG and states can pay N250,000= as minimum wage. One of the performance indicators success of any government is the ability to generate revenue through productive activities in a conducive business environment. But in Nigeria the emphasis appears to be conspicous consumption and treasury looting by the political class to the detriment of the masses. Nigeria is blessed with huge natural and mineral resources. What is lacking is committed and visionary leadership.

Mr. Falana is now an economic expert who now understands that our economy can afford to pay minimum wage our mentally challenged unionists are demanding.
How much is Mr. Falana paying lawyers in his chamber?
If Mr. Falana thinks that ordinary medium scale businesses can avoid even the minimum that the Federal Government is proposing, let him think again.
It is criminal folly to force even States of the Federation to pay imposed national minimum wage. That is the responsibility of state assemblies. States should be able to determine their own minimum wages. That should be part of the residual powers of the states under any democratic dispensation. But Nigeria been what it is, assemblage of irrational and emotional people, intelligent thoughts are never part of our DNA.
Everything as far as Falana is concerned must be the constitution. How about common sense and prudence in the face of reality?

Two ways, return subsidy, ignore IMF/World Bank or deduct emoluments/salaries of workers from the national monthly earnings before sharing the balance to the Federal, States and Local Governments. The private sector should also be subsidized/assisted to be able to pay the approved minimum wage.

Most times emotion blinds us from the truth.Wage increase will only cause inflation and retrenchment. NLC should agree to less than 60,000 naira on the following conditions:
50 percent reduction of presidency and NASS expenditure
Workers earning less than 6000 naira a month should pay no taxes
Students with family income of less than 120000 a month should not pay a dime for tertiary education
Federal government should stop monthly allocation to states once they fail to pay their workers
All government agencies should buy made in Nigeria vehicles
No international trips for all government functionaries for the next one year
The Lagos- Calabar road should continue only after at least 2 dysfunctional roads in each of the 6 regions has been rehabilitated
CNG buses should be made available to all the 36 states within a month
Provide security to farmers especially those producing staple food products
Free medical and dental mobile clinics in at least 2 cities per state

There is already an inflation in the land hence the call for a new minimum wage… the fallacy of a new Inflation is only driven by those whom it will Favour- the lack of political will to ensure a new inflation doesn’t arise is the same that means that all what you listed above will not work/be enforced …
60k means civil servants in Nigeria continue to languish in poverty and are enticed by a continual bribery and corruption culture we see in every office today.
