It's not front running. it's activist short selling. Legal and not unethical.

Exactly. Whistleblower mechanism shouldn’t be thought off as insider trading. A system collapses in its own might when there’s no one to point out the deficiencies. And if whistleblowing is profitable, it incentivises more people to do it. 🤷🏻
Hindenburg is doing activist short selling, which is legal and also mentioned in the CFA level 2 curriculum. As per activists short selling the entity building a short position on an asset class backs its position by presenting a research on it explaining why/how they believe that the company share price is artificially inflated or overvalued.
I hope you correct your point on front running.

The whole drift provided in this video as well as the blog accompanyimg it is that Evolution of Financial markets requires eveolution of regulations to not allow this so called Messiahs to take us for a ride
There is a very think line that differentiates activist short selling from front running... It's the clarity of lens that shows the clear demarcation... Regulators as of now do not have that clear lens... I tried to provide an encouragemnt to my students to try developing that lens
If Indian govt can then it should drag the hindunberg into international court...all this hoolism of nationalism is good for politics but we need stronger regulatory systems

Its called activist short selling where they take short positions. disclosed earlier and publish reports to support it.
It is not an investment advisory so they are not required legally to disclose anything.
So its 100% legal
