- I have no idea what's going on with this noise, do you? Today I go from wild camping in the Colville National Forest to seeing friends in Sandpoint, Idaho, but after a major snafu, plans to see my daughter are destroyed in an instant, and I have to scramble to figure out how to cope.

What do you think was happening with that noise? More camping adventures: czcams.com/video/YFrQrjNHWKo/video.html
Sounds like it was trying to cough up a hair ball. Lol
Thank you, for all you do and taking me places, that I more n likely would not see.
👽✌🇨🇦❤
Sounds like mating seasons 😆..so enjoy ur vids those scenery quiet nature life walks are the best..so soothing
It is a deer blowing at you trying to get you to move.
Lovely photography and wonderful editing!
Thank you so much 😀
Diane … Another excellent video!!! Several things: first, the sound you heard I feel certain was a deer. The deer family includes whitetail deer, mule deer, black tailed deer, elk and moose. The mating season for deer is called the rut and occurs between mid-October to mid-November depending upon several factors. Different types of deer vocalize with different sounds … one of which, I call wheezing, is what you heard. Unless the animal was a moose, you probably weren’t in any danger. Moose, on the other hand, are very unpredictable, and can be dangerous when provoked (and sometimes when NOT provoked). It’s best to steer reasonably clear of them unless you are hunting or armed. Next: glad you got to spend time with friends and they came through for you!!! Can’t wait to hear about your adventures at the monastery!!! Your videos are delightful as is your personality!!! Take care, be safe, travel safer, best wishes and God bless!!! Chuck Knight from Buffalo, Texas. 🤠👨🌾✝️🙏🖖👍👋🐩🦌
Chuck, thank you so much! I only caught a glimpse of what looked like a deer with a rack, but I suppose it could have been a small elk? Pretty sure it wasn't a moose. I thought it might be a deer having a baby, it sounded so distressed, until I saw the rack. I definitely kept my distance and will always do so when it comes to any wild animal! Thanks for your lovely comment as always.... :)
@@dianeschmiane Diane … You are very very welcome!!! God bless!!! Chuck. 👨🌾
Nice video! You have a great attitude when things don’t go your way. 👍🏼👏🏼
Thanks, I tend to clam up and try to assess when things go wrong, even if I'm freaking out inside... :)
I am not sure about the Noise in the woods but a Fox has a raspy bark that sounds a little like that but our FOX in Texas may have a little different accent LOL.
That's interesting, I don't think I've ever heard a fox. I'll have to see if I can find that one!
love to hear about your kids and your life. thank you for sharing!
April, thank you so much!
Oh my gosh! I was panicking right there with you about the Covid test. I’m so sorry about the delay to see your daughter but happy you were able to spend time with your dear friend. I’m looking forward to the next video
Linda, thanks so much! Despite my initial panic, it all worked out... :)
Ok, I stopped breathing watching you zoom in on that mystery sound. You do realize there’s something called a Bigfoot, right? 😂
Right, I totally forgot about him... Thank goodness!!!
I greatly admire your composure with the deer noises. I am a horror movie watching city girl with an overactive imagination-I would have freaked out!
I can't stand horror movies because I can imagine how all of that bloodshed feels, so yeah, I stay away from them which probably helps in the composure department... :)
@@dianeschmiane
I haven't watched horror movies for maybe 30 years bc of my overactive imagination. You were quite brave to walk over there to investigate. I need to take chances more often but not in that scenario :) Love your attitude. I'm hooked on your video's. Thanks for providing us with such great content.
I probably would have quickly gotten in the drivers seat and had my foot on the gas pedal "just in case" :)
Well, that has to be new street slang verbiage, "Looking very Darin" 🤣Patti looking princessy is spot on, always 😍Thanks for the shoutout. I remember you wanted us to order "Avocado Toast" for you, but instead went full sugar with the Belgium waffle full of whip cream and strawberries! Yes, what a beautiful trail around such a beautiful lake, Lake Pend d'Oreille, and if we had more time, we would have taken that! 🩴🩴Looking forward to "meeting" your daughter. I had no idea, or, don't recall, you having such difficulties with the test. 🙏🏼
Oh yeah, that test was a bear, but I didn't even discover the problem until after I left you guys... :)
I felt so bad for you with the Covid news. Hope it all worked out. Parents sure love spending time with their kids even for just a bit when they are all grown and far from home. We all have family stuff. Thank you for being so vulnerable to share. On another note it sure was a gorgeous area
Dawn, thank you so much, and thanks for always leaving nice comments, they really mean a lot. Yes, families all have their strife, and we ultimately all have to let the kids and everything go at some point... I just didn't imagine it would be like this, but perhaps this is a lesson I need to learn... :)
We have a son who is estranged from us, 13 years ago now. He is 51 now. 😮Definitely not our idea but he has made it clear he is happier not being around family. Anyway, I really enjoy watching your videos, your sense of humour, and how you don’t let things bother you. At least not that it shows!! Keep making these videos 👏
Such a pretty video! You have a good eye! Enjoy your daughter.
Thanks, Dori... :)
Im so sorry about the family challenges with which you live. Im also so incredibly disheartened by how lost Americans are in today’s world. While I hope your daughter(s) find solace, I really do hope they realize the importance of family and the love you have for them.
RTL, yes, the American landscape is so different these days. One daughter has found a solid path, and the other, I just don't know, other than she's following her dreams of being a creator, so I am glad she's listening to her heart, even if it doesn't include us... ❤️
Sorry that all happened. All the purple flowers. ❤ purple flowers. That trail looks like something I could walk, but not as far as you. 🙂
👽✌❤🇨🇦
Paige, I probably only went a mile or so in at most, and it was soooo beautiful. Nice and level, an easy walk. Thank you for always commenting, it's nice to see you here... :)
Thank you for keeping the
nuns safe by taking a Covid
test, it's NOT ridiculous to
require one among monastic
nuns and monks! 🎑🙇♀️💚
Rutting season, for sure.
In late July? Interesting... And thanks!
@@dianeschmiane oooh, thought this video was more current. Probably not rutting then 🤭
yeah, totally deer noises. Anything from that to a barking sound (like a dog) is in the cards... Usually a buck in a bada** mood so maybe keep your distance. ;) Sorry about your visit
Yes, pretty sure it was a buck, and he did not sound happy. So yeah, definitely kept my distance!
Wow! Can’t wait to watch the next video of you at the Abby. Sorry you are estranged from your other daughter. Cute black dress at the end of this video
r. thanks... that was the one clean thing I could wear while everything else was being washed!
deer
Definitely a great way to relax from a stressed my day 🙏
(I wonder if I’m the only one that thinks your hubby has a Nicholas Cage look about him in that pic 🤔)
LOL, glad I could help. I've never heard the Nicolas Cage comment before, that's a new one!
@@dianeschmiane damn autocorrect - “your” stressed day 🙏
covid testing is so foreign to me.. I live in Florida.
❤
Just curious? You said your on week two of a month long trip.I know I’ve been following you a lot longer..
Yes, these videos I’ve been putting out each typically represent a day in my travels, and because they take a lot of time to edit, the effect is time drawn out. So, it’s like an endless summer over here so far… 😊
Ok, I’ve been thinking your husband is amazing, thinking you’ve been gone 2-3 months so far. Not selling him short, he’s still amazing!
Possibly a fisher cat? Sound like a woman shrieking?
That wasn’t precisely what I hear but I have a lot of deer and elk on my property and a wheezy sound is part of their repertoire.
Interesting, any idea why? It sounded like he was in distress!
@@dianeschmiane it must be normal for them. The elk bugling sounds wheezy too.
@@dianeschmiane I wonder if it's a mate call
I thought it was a large animal sleep breathing. How do you map your route via the small towns?
In person it sounded more like labor, except I caught a glimpse of antlers, so I thought it was a buck. As for the small towns, I pick an area of the country I want to see, look at towns on a map, image-google their downtown areas, then decided from there which ones look like the most interesting to visit. I also prefer towns with national forest nearby so that I can wild camp.
The fact that they are even requiring a Covid test is ridiculous! I hope your daughter is ok where she is at.
It was earlier this summer, and they have a lot of older people there, so they worry, but, yeah…
It’s a violation of your constitutional rights please don’t buy into it
I agree!! I thought masks were effective???? BS
Oh- I wonder if something was wrong with the buck deer 🦌 making that sound. Could you determine if it was ok?
It walked away, but I couldn't see it well enough to know if it was limping or what... I just caught a glimpse of it moving away into the bushes.
