- Video: My first ever ride onboard a fully refurbished Eurostar Class 373 TGV TMST e300 unit from London St Pancras International to Lille Europe. The hype was certainly real from the moment I got to the high level at St Pancras and saw this Class 373 standing at platform 7, so I had to make the most of it as these units are very rare to get on and sadly very limited in terms of how many units will survive and get this refurbishment.
This was a refurbished e300 set (3015/3016) which was the first ever unit to get the full refurbishment, operating service 9110 to Brussels Midi/Zuid calling at all stations Ebbsfleet, Ashford, Calais & Lille. As usual I sat in seat 15 coach 1, but this time in the refurbished layout it was far better aligned with the window giving me a much better view of the journey. With this being the early morning stopper, I got a chance to really hear these great sounding traction motors at there best, particularly upon arrival into Ashford Intl sounding beautiful.
My opinion on the refurbished e300, I think its great I do like the blue, yellow, brown and grey colour scheme, it certainly livens up the interiors a lot. Though, I personally never had a problem with the original interior looks, sure it looked quite dated and dull to some people, but it was smart and very comfortable.
On that topic, was it comfortable? Yes I think so, more comfortable than the new e320 train seats (with regards to the cushioning), but not as much as the classic interiors. The seat-to-window config is far better aligned and improved with less 2+2 seating (unless in the very centre) and more solo 2 seats giving more legroom and privacy. Things I did not like were that the seat backs seemed a bit smaller than before and the head cushions were a bit too firm (though I imagine that will change over time). A few more positives, the train finally has WiFi (something that should have been on classic 373s years before this upgrade), seat back plug sockets and new passenger information screen, though this unit had some technical issues unfortunately. And finally worth noting the refurbished 373s have brand new door opening/release alarms so listen out for it at each stop.
Overall I was very impressive with the upgrades and it shows what can be accomplished from refurbishing these trains (though I understand this was probably costly), its a shame that only 8 units with see this upgrade (minus 3007/3008 seemingly as that still has the classic interior).

Class 373 motor is like music to my ears 🎵
Absolutely, it sounds beautiful
Transport Centre couldn't agree more, when it flies through at full speed, it sounds like a stormtrooper laser gun doesn't it
Same, love them
you mean motor's!
after seeing so many class 373 units go off to be scrapped, it's lovely seeing that there's some hope left for the refurbished units
I agree, it was very nice to be on. Long may these units live (hopefully).
they will all be gone by 2020 - 2023
Izystar trainset has been "parked" one last time last week. Thalys did not renew the lease.
@@macauleypplaysarchive they are still running to this day
@@Everything_Electrical19 yeah I saw one at London
The class 373 is my favourite high speed train
And the other TGV ❗👍
Turns out you uploaded this one day before I went to Paris with Eurostar
E320 out

Very good video! I went on the Eurostar to Disneyland Paris a week ago. I hope you enjoyed the journey. I gave it a like 😀👍
I did last year carry my stitch bag
Great video. In Agust I'm going on a Eurostar to Paris! It's so scary to think that I'm going under the sea!
Smooth and fast
So beautiful this train 👍😍
blue train
Long trip to the France this...What a life!!! 😉👏
Like in the video. A baby very nice in Eurostar class 373.
Oh man, I wish these older TMSTs were never scrapped... They were so much more comfortable than those new trains, not to mention they look and sound better as well. The new trains are so uncomfortable. I wish they could refurbish all of them. Actually, did you know that three power cars made it into preservation? Anyway, nice video! Liked!
DID YOU KNOW!!!!!! 3 facts about eurostar.
The chunnel was opened in 1994.
The eurostar goes as fast as a crusing apache helicopter which is even faster than a passanger plane on the runway at rotation speed!!!
When in the tunnel from St pancreas to Stratford International, it goes simular speed to a boeing / airbus plane at rotation speed which is about 140 - 177 mph.
Anybody know what those lights on each end if every carriage are for? My best guess is that it is related to the breaks.
Hollandais?
Great video! How did you get the camera to stand like that the whole journey?
Thanks, I literally did it freehand for the whole 2 hours. I had to drink an energy drink and eat some late breakfast to keep me awake though.
@@CHOO-CHOOPlane that must have been painful. Tiredness must have kicked in after

저기 물에볼게있는데 왜 transit에는 유로스타 노선이 없나요?tgv 노선을 보고싶어요 만들어주세요
Very good movie but now very few passengers on Eurostars nowadays because of lockdown during coronavirus crisis.
From June 8th anyone coming into London in any Eurostars will be asked to stay at home for 7 days and provided personal information plus contact. That's according to our British Government.
introductorily, had that Arab actually been Walloon..?!

Are all the class 373 going to be scrapped
No, but most of them will. Only 8 sets will survive (plus a spare power car) and be refurbished including the one in this video.
The ones I know for definite that aren't getting scrapped so far: 3007/3008, 3015/3016 (the one in the video), 3211/3212, 3219/3220, 3221/3222, 3229/3230 and 3999 (which is a power car only).
The class 373 can come to the south of France and to the Alps, E300 can't at that time . So the class 373 will be keept.
I like train in paris
I think the E300 is slightly faster than the new E320 I think it is?
No
Its so simple e300 max speed is 300kmh
e320 max speed is 320kmh
그림과같이생겼다.
Looking At the newer Eurostars, they feel like parasites to the Class 373
Nice video but the people talking so loudly are really irritating!
woah!! I cannot believe how hoodwinked your-a-pee-ons have become there, holy shit, oof!! reimbursements due there for being trapped by noisy harmonics -- you gotta be kidding me..!
