As long as the park has interesting things to see its fine. Those old rides were really cool so I didnt even think of this video as different until you pointed out the lack of dark rides and stringent rules.

To answer your informal poll there at the end: I like videos like this. You don't have to ride the coasters, as long as you keep getting great shots of them in action :)

I love the tours of parks, even if you are unable to film on rides. Gives a great idea of whether or not it is a park that my family would enjoy. Thanks!

Man you're hitting all my favorites as of recently! I love Dorney, it's by far my favorite amusement park. Hydra was my first inverted roller coaster, so it holds a special place in my heart. Fun fact about Hydra- it stands in the place where a coaster called Hercules once was. Story goes Hercules defeated the Hydra and buried it's head in that spot, and years later it grew back as the coater, hence "the revenge". I love this park so much.

Either way I enjoy them. If you can film being on the rides then we get to hear you scream. If you video others on the rides we still get to see locations that many of us can't get to so I enjoy whatever we get. My wife has been recovering from some very serious non-covid related issues since 2019 and even with things re opening and me being vaccinated I'm not able to be out at attractions or take the grand kids to an amusement park. Plus, my kids and I have always been fans of dark rides and "haunted houses". So keep on videoing for those of us that are living vicariously through the series! lol

I like both kinds of videos. Just walking and showing off the park does help me decide if it is a place I want to visit. But, I have to admit that I love watching your on-ride experiences. Especially the coasters! While going down the first hill of a coaster, it always sounds like you are contemplating/regretting every life choice you have made that led you to that moment on that coaster!

I worked at Dorney back in the early 90’s just before Cedar Fair purchased it for a few years. This brings back so many memories. So much of the park is completely different yet so much is exactly the same. The wooden coaster you referred to as coaster we called the yellow coaster, and the name was then changed to Thunderhawk. Thank you for taking me back to a place that defined my entire childhood. You did it justice!! You don’t need to take us on the coasters....tours like this are perfect! What I enjoy most about your videos, Jacob, is the background information you give -- the history of the site and its attractions, how things work, the behind-the-scenes material. (That there is an actual name for parks at the end of trolley lines was new to me. Thanks! And your telling us about Bill Tracy allowed me to appreciate spotting, in one of your videos of a dark ride, the "R.I.P. Bill Tracy" on one of the tombstones.) If camera restrictions prevent you from adding on-the-ride footage, so be it. My enjoyment is not diminished in the least.

Then in the seventies I enjoyed Wacky Shack, the pirate dark ride, Journey to the Center of the Earth, the Carousel (my mother fainted on this) which was then in it's Carousel House with a music machine in the center, a small stone lined pond where we watched fish, a riverboat ride, and the zoo. Dorney of today just doesn't measure up. I much prefer Knoebels.

I actually really like videos like this where you don't go on all the rides. I thought it was really interesting to learn about a park that I've never heard about and the gift shop was really cool to see as well! This park reminds me of Knott's Berry Farm and Great America in California

(Elrond voice) "I was there..." around 30 years ago, and I recall 2 dark rides, "Pirates Cove" and "Journey to the Center of the Earth", both of which would have been awesome to see you visit, Jacob, but looks like these have long been gone, unfortunately. Its a shame they haven't replaced these with other dark ride attractions.

Jacob, you need to visit kings dominion in Virginia! It's very similar to this park and kings island, and is a super fun place. Not only that, but busch gardens williamsburg is in the same state, and i highly recommend that place as well. They let you film on roller coasters at that one to.

I have to agree he needs to check out kings dominion and bush gardens Williamsburg and honestly I have not been on a ride you can’t film on they just want it strapped to you in some fashion for safety.

I would like more of this. It doesn't really matter. I don't have to feel like I'm on rides to enjoy seeing the parks. I just enjoy seeing it all. You make me feel like I'm there! It's great!
Plus, I don't ride roller coasters anyway.

@thecarpetbagger well it is nice to have a stroll through an amusement park to see the overall vibe as well as getting on some of the rides.

I grew up going to this park and was grateful to have a chance to see the changes! There used to be a dark ride there called "The Bucket of Blood" that burned down. You would have loved it!

I watch your videos to see what's in the park. As long as I can see the rides function, I'm fine. You riding the rides are just a bonus, but rules are rules and I don't want or need you to break any rules for the videos you make. I love the style that you have with making your videos and they are always entertaining, even if you don't get on any rides at all. Too bad you don't like water parks cause I know Dorney's water park is amazing. I went there a couple of years back. Hopefully, I can go this year.

Of course, seeing you on rides & hearing you scream are the best...but if you can't, you can't & watching this was fun too. I especially loved seeing the classic rides.
