  • Just a quick video that I threw together a few weeks ago showing a few historic locations in Manchester NH . I also happened to film a homeless camp disbursement that was on my route near the Food Pantry that was going on . It's a bit short but I hope you enjoy it .

You are showing the old St Anne’s church near st casinos. It was the very first acatholic church in the city. The school associated with it was not the school you are sharing but rather Mc Donald school (named after father McDonald). It was on the other side of the church and convent but it burned down while I was student in fourth grade. I was devastated. Good to share with you.

My parent’s old house used to be near where you filmed 4:32. It was on Manchester Street. The funeral parlor - Phaneuf made a more than reasonable offer and they moved out.

Granite building between the library and St. Joseph church is the Institute of Arts and Science. This is my old neighborhood growing up back in the day. I was also going to mention checking with the Manchester Historic Association for old photos but I see you discovered it in this video. Hope you're endeavors pan out.

I graduated from St. Casimir School in 1984. Sad to see the building is now low income housing.

I rode my bike through West Side a few weeks ago and kept thinking: Manchester was probably such a beautiful place 60 years ago. Shithole now. Sad.

the snow was piled and not trucked away and dumped into the Merrimack River like they do today. They did not get more snow then...

Stans paint store was where the court house is. Next to the old union leader. I use to go there as a kid. Bc my step dad did painting.

I always thought the idea of shipping all homeless people to the northernmost part of the state and giving them each a 100-acre farm for them to try and build a life again was a great idea. We spend more on our current programs than that could ever cost, training and all.

They'd burn the forest down , trash the area and just bring drugs up North unfortunately . No offense but they don't want to work down here so they sure as hell are not running a farm . Also homeless would flock in the thousands to this area .
They need a designated area in the city to camp in , where ? I don't know though as it's a fairly large population .

Re Stand paint store....Never located st Victory Park, you are 1 block off. Go further up the street, away from the park. I moved to Manchester in 68, and the park has been there for decades before, wayyyyyyy before. Just look at the building that has a storefront base, and 4 stories on top, right hand side of screen. You were too close to Elm st for Stan's location.

Thank you , I was confused for sure .
The 77 Amherst Street location was the newer store , the original was on Merrimac Street as that picture was from the Manchester Historic Association that led me to Merrimac st .
The large tower building in the older Stans picture that I posted in the video looking from Merrimac street that I mentioned in the video matches what's presently there as it's the only building in Manchester that resembles it right down to the windows that I counted . I think the original Stans was just further back towards the courthouse as you mentioned . This was before my time 🤷‍♀
