- An amazing sight-read by Tom Brier but in the wrong tempo sadly.
Decided to make this clean version in a better tempo.

This is amazing! This is far and away my favorite Mario Bros. tune. I was just listening to the one short video we have of Tom playing this and lamenting about how much we just need a video where the speed of the video does not have to be manipulated in some way to get the original tempo.
Thank you!
I am glad you liked it :D
Actually the music (and pretty much game) is from a game only release in JP called Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, same composer though being Koji.
@@gulpdiator Yes, I am well aware that this was originally Doki Doki Panic. If I had said how much I loved this Doki Doki Panic song, I would have just had to explain that to everyone. Everyone in the US knows this as Mario Bros 2. :)
This channel is so good thank you for making these! Toms playing has been blowing my mind for years
Uauaua
this is so underrated.. u deserve at least 300K subscribers for your awesome job
Thank you :)
Nice, I just looked up the original and saw this under it. Well done
I gotta stop daydreaming about me playing this song...
I know that sounds random, but that's just the situation
You dont have to daydream about it, just practice.
Oh man i love this
Glad you liked it
Thanks for making these.
Amazing job thanks so much!
Mario is now ragtime
Wow! This is MY arrangement! I only slowed it down due to the increased difficulty, but if anyone can play this at the original tempo, kudos to them!
Speaking of which, here's the link to my original: musescore.com/user/7146791/scores/2448306
Enjoy!
You might be mistaking. I mean your arrangement is very similar to mine. This might be because we both are transcribing the same thing lol.
I transcribed it using the original Sheet Music from SMB2 and the video where Tom Brier played it.
Here is the link to that : czcams.com/video/lgda3qc8S0A/video.html
Sounds good, although like most of your other videos it's not a very accurate transcription of what Tom played. It sounds more like the original version from the game.
my idol :D (I want to play like him)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this doesn't look to be the version that Tom played.
This isn't what Tom Brier played but it was intended to played like this as Keeper1st mentioned in his comment "My fault. I had never heard the tune before either, having just seen a primitive sheet music score. My assumption was that it was played slowly, and I instructed Tom that it was to be played "leisurely"."
@@AbstracticalMusic Ahh I see, so is this your own arrangement or is it a transcription of someone playing?
This is the transcription of Tom Brier playing it but I just increased the tempo to recreate what it was supposed to sound like.
@@AbstracticalMusicBut that's the point of my original comment, it's different than what Tom Brier played. You can even see it in the B section, where in this video the left hand is playing stride jumping from bass notes to chords, and in Tom Brier's version his left hand is playing a walking bassline.
Not a chance people who love rythem video games can play this. There are way too many shit to look at and keep track of. I think these are just people who learned how to play piano already and the colored nodes are just for show to vialize how many notes are being played to make them seem more difficult to play.
