- Learning how to catch a football is a crucial football skill. To catch the football, you need the proper hand placement and position on the ball. This depends on if the football coming in front of you or below your waist. You need to watch the football as you catch it.
Make sure to bring the football into your body on the correct side based on which side the defender is on. If the defender is directly behind you, you have to catch the ball, tuck it into your chest, squat low, spin and then run. Use this new knowledge to help improve your receiver skills.
