The players sign contracts and there is a players agreement with the owners. Live with it and play with it. I am tired of hearing "he wants to enter free agency 100% healthy". So if he signs a 5-year deal for $75 million with $30 million guaranteed, should he sit out the 5th season of that contract so he can assure himself of being healthy for the next contract? When everyday people have to pay today's prices to attend games or buy jerseys, it is wrong that a person can say no to $14.5 million for playing 16 football games. He loses and the fans lose from not being able to see one of the current greats play. I love the sport and I understand his logic, but I just think the business side has seeped into the fun part of the sport too much. I have no hard feelings toward LB and wish him well, but that is my $0.02.

Le'Veon is comparing his salary to top RB, WR, and QBs because he was the most dynamic offensive player in football and deserved to be compensated as such. People have really misconstrued what Bell's teammates said. They weren't calling him out for his money, they were calling him out bc he had told several of them he was going to come in and end the holdout but didn't.
That put a lot of those players in an awkward position thinking he was coming but he didn't. And they were having to deal with that while the season was starting.
None of the players called him out for trying to get his money. And I'm honestly surprised to see Shannon saying this when that wasn't what actually happened.

They need to change the CBA for the running back position specifically. The teams use the wear and tear of the RB position against the player. Rookie running backs should only be able to be signed for three years and then they can be free agent or start being franchise tagged, so they are making bigger money earlier since they think their careers end earlier.

So entering 2018, after doing everything the Steelers wanted him to do, the guaranteed money they offered him was a slap in the face. So I get it. Another point is it’s easy for Conner to be all about the team now, but let’s wait till 4 or 5 years later, and Conner is leading in touches and still playing on rookie contract to see if he’s still about all about the team lol

He's sitting out because he wants MORE money and long term commitment, not because he isn't getting paid now. His franchise tag alone would've made him the #1 or 2 paid RB in the league this year. I don't think sitting out has hurt his overall contract worth, but it could have had a huge effect on the guaranteed money depending on the team. Not sure i'd feel secure giving him a huge payday for sitting out a year because he felt like he should be paid more even though he's already one of the top earners for RBs.
The Steelers should've gotten a deal done before now, but it could be a blessing in disguise with Conner's emergence. Should've just traded him away this year while they had the chance.

With the QB and receiving spots taking so much of the cap its not really a surprise Bell has to sit out to get what he thinks he deserves.
