I remembered that my first watched a Gumby and Rugrats on Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon was big welcome to me when I was a toddler.
Oh that "Chipmunks 35th Birthday Party" commercial, I remember seeing that ALL THE TIME when watching Nickelodeon! 😁
I wish there were some more footage from pinwheel from Nickelodeon
This was before Nick's Help campaign renamed itself to "The Big Help".
I do remember watching those redubbed Gumby episodes on Nickelodeon as a kid in the 1990s, but even then I generally preferred those episodes with their original soundtracks (which are what are used for most releases nowadays, while the redubs like these have gotten more difficult to find.)
I remember the elephant call at 12:01 also being used in the 1990s version of the "Mixed-Up Mother Goose" PC game for a triceratops roaring on a poster in the male protagonist's bedroom.
Heh, at 25:08 they used the sound of a diesel train's horn for that Lionel steam locomotive when redubbing that episode!

Luckily, the 80s redubs of the episodes are available on CZcams which were from the Rhino DVDs.

Those aren't the original plugs; this is a Feb. 1994 airing. I have two airings of Nick Arcade from roughly the same time, both have the BK Rods plug.

That would be nice if there was more Sharon Lois and bram elephant show episodes on CZcams but with good quality or some pinwheel episodes from Nickelodeon or today’s special

Yeah, the original soundtrack had Norma MacMillan voicing Gumby, whereas the redub had Dallas McKennon voice Gumby. I feel that while McKennon was overall the better Gumby voice actor, MacMillan seemed to fit better with Gumby acting all out-of-character like a murderous idiot (here he sounds more like Archie Andrews, another character McKennon voiced.)
Yeah, you can definitely tell that Art Clokey didn't have a lot of involvement with the later 60's episodes especially at how out of character they are. Such as this and Grub Grabber Gumby since he was never portrayed as a big eater. As for the voices while Dallas McKennon will always be the top Gumby voice Norma MacMillan's voice does have it's own charn that I like.
@@pikachu0Z That would also explain why Art Clokey only voiced Pokey and Prickle in a couple of late 60s episodes. In other cases, either Dallas McKennon would voice both characters, or Hal Smith would voice Prickle while Norma MacMillan voiced Pokey!
True sometimes I remember being thrown off by how they sounded, especially how both have low pitched voices and suddenly in other episodes their pitch is way higher.
@@pikachu0Z Yep; Hal Smith often made Prickle sound similar to Paul Lynde!
