Command Visit of CPNP at PRO BAR

CPNP ACORDA VISITS PRO BAR TO STRENGTHEN UNITY AND PEACE IN THE REGION
Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr., the Chief of the Philippine National Police , paid a significant visit to the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) on May 11, 2023. The visit aimed to fortify the unity and peace in the region through various significant events and engagements.
The highlight of General Acorda's visit was the momentous mass surrender of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) at Camp BGen Salipada K Pendatun, Parang, Maguindanao. This event marks a crucial step towards lasting peace and reconciliation in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Police General Acorda expressed his appreciation for the brave decision of the 50 BIFF members to embrace peace and work towards a better future for their communities.
General Acorda presented the "PEDTABANGA TANU" livelihood assistance program to the former BIFF combatants during the ceremony. This program aims to empower and support the surrenderers in their transition to a peaceful and productive civilian life. Through livelihood training, skills development, and financial aid, the PNP and its partners are committed to ensuring that the former combatants have sustainable means of income and livelihood.
Meanwhile, in line with the efforts to promote unity and peace in the BARMM, General Acorda also presided over the BARMM Stakeholders Summit held at Camp BGen Salipada K Pendatun. The summit brought together key leaders and representatives from various sectors, including the government, civil society, religious groups, and the private sector. The objective of the summit was to foster dialogue, collaboration, and solidarity among stakeholders, with a shared commitment to achieving lasting peace and development in the region.
During the summit, General Acorda emphasized the importance of inclusive and participatory governance, highlighting the need for sustained efforts in addressing the root causes of conflict and promoting social cohesion. The discussions centered around collaborative initiatives, capacity-building programs, and community engagement strategies to build a united and prosperous Bangsamoro region.
As part of his visit, he also conducted a command conference with the PRO BAR leadership to discuss key issues and strategic plans for maintaining peace and security in the region. The conference provided an opportunity for open dialogue and information sharing, ensuring a synchronized approach to address emerging challenges effectively.
Furthermore, General Acorda engaged with the men and women of PRO BAR during a special talk. He expressed his gratitude for their dedication and service, acknowledging their tireless efforts in maintaining law and order in the region. General Acorda reiterated the PNP's commitment to providing necessary resources, training, and support to enhance the capabilities of the police force, enabling them to better serve and protect the communities they serve.
