    Tip and trick: I have a 2012 sonata, and I don't put my sonata in drive during the summer, I go all the way down and shift the gears manually, I let the RPM's climb to 4000 and hold for a few seconds before shifting into 2nd, and repeat 4000 RPM's before going into 3rd. I don't shift past 3rd gear unless I get on the highway and it will keep your AC blowing cold. I've been doing this for 3 summers, and I've been searching for a real solution to this problem. Everyone on this feed is having the same problem. We should file another class action lawsuit against Hyundai. They really know how to suck money out of honest people.

      This is probably a really really dumb question, but when you’re driving like that do you just treat it like a standard (minus the clutch) and move the shifter to change gears? I have this fear that just gears on an automatic will ruin it lol.

      See my entry above. There's another guy that I checked out for this problem on CZcams a few years ago, and he cut a wire that goes across your dashboard. Maybe that would fix it maybe not but check for that and see what you think I'm about ready to try that because I don't think that the problem is in my compressor and the like. Is anybody else ready for class action?

      2012 Sonata Turbo, Same AC problem....live in humid Houston, Texas... when humidity is high and the temperature is high the air conditioning stops working after driving up to certain number of RPMs or about 20-30 minutes. It also shuts off at stop lights with change of RPMs at normal and natural speeds.. I do think that it is a class action suit time. I've been dealing with this for three years now.. good mechanics, and the results always come back okay. But it doesn't fix the problem.

      Its would cost you a good amount but this is not a job for every skill level. Evacuating the A/C and Recharging needs to be done correctly in order for the system to cool.

  • @fpplsoftwashpressurewashin8757

    He doesn't mention to CHECK YOUR A/C FUSE FIRST. You could end up spending a lot of money replacing a compressor when it could have been your air conditioning fuse. A couple of bucks vs. nearly a thousand to fix. Cool video though.

    • @aldovera3789
      @aldovera3789 Před 4 lety +5

      In this case the compressor was actually working at times( you could tell by the pressures changing when he revved it up to higher rpm). Now, Carlos forgot to mentioned that these compressor are not the conventional ones with a clutch that cycles on and off as the cooling is required. These compressor are constantly spinning but have a swash plate inside that is controlled by a pressure valve. So, the fact that it wasn't working properly could have been different factors not limited to the compressor itself.

    • @osmanitellez9729
      @osmanitellez9729 Před rokem

      So many videos don’t mention that a lot of cars have variable compressor s and those are always spinning. That is my case, so diagnosis is a bit more tricky. Also the ECU or computer has a lot to do with the AC function and many communication problems can happen there. Wish there were more people diagnosing Variables compressor systems externally controlled.
