- i found both the notebook and plastic page inserts from a UK seller on eBay. Photo negative pages are an alternative and are readily available in the US. plus they fit our standard binders.
The stitchbow plastic doohicky can be found on Amazon and eBay. I got a great deal on 120 pieces from Amazon. - Jak na to + styl
Thanks for this. It is a really good idea. I bought the stitchbows and plastic wallets but not the folder. For anyone in the UK, I got them from Hobbycraft. They will fit an ordinary A4 ring binder or lever arch file. Mine are in a W H Smith lever arch file. Files in the UK tend to have two rings, I presume France is the same. For anyone in the US see if you can find a UK supplier of files that will ship it to the US. Once again, thank you I now have organised silks, not a jumbled, tangled mess 🙂
You're welcome!
So organized!! Love it!
Great storage idea, love the colors!
Wow this is amazing great idea to organize
Just a note, and this is not the first time I’ve heard this, the “kinks” do not cause the knots. What causes the knots is sewing with the floss being drawn against the grain or twist of the thread. All sewing thread has a grain, if you run your fingers down a single strand of your floss in both directions, you will feel a smooth texture and a rougher texture. The smooth is with the grain or twist, and the rough is going against the grain or twist. Once you sew with the floss going with the grain you will no longer have problems with knots in your floss.
Thanks for your comment. I still don't like the kinks so have been using this method for storage and am happy with it.
I absolutely disagree. Once I finished off all the floss that I had stored on cards, I had WAYYY less knots and snags in my thread. I understand what you are saying, and I believe you are correct (I have no in-depth knowledge of thread), but the kinks and issues stemming from use of the bobbins is most definitely REAL.
Oh that is a nice way to organize floss. TFS
Great idea for floss storage!
Thanks Marilyn. I really like that storage. Hope a is well. Scrappy hugs.
Thank you Jackie. Hope you and the family are also doing good.
Great organizer! Tfs
Great way to not end up with a wrapping headache
I am not about making extra work or headaches. Lol
Great solution tfs
It became nearly impossible to find the inserts for these, so I gave up on moving all of mine to a StitchBow system. I stuck with what I started in the early 90s -- Floss Away bags. Finally got rid of the floss i had kept on bobbins since the late 80s.
Well that's really cool!
So helpful thanks for sharing!
Your welcome!

Ebay
Where did you find the color chart?
Ebay.
Where do I find this? I can’t seam to find it
I think she said they stopped making the poly pockets, but you can still get the bows and maybe use storage wallets made to hold strips of old style camera film negatives
If you live in the UK Hobbycraft has the Bows and plastic wallets "DMC Gold Plastic Storage Wallet" and "DMC Gold Stitchbow Thread Holder 10 Pack" they're actually fairly affordable, £1 for one wallet and £1.30 for the bows. If your not in the UK then apologies!
