Stasha demonstrates how to take an epsom salt bath using magnesium sulfate crystals and lavender essential oil. An epsom salt bath is extremely relaxing. Espom salt is magnesium and sulfate. We often don't get enough magnesium in our diet; it happens to be very calming and soothing to our nerves. Sulfates are very good for the skin. Lavender oil is an essential oil known for its relaxing properties.
Follow Stasha's instructions and enjoy a great, relaxing bath!

I took an Epsom Salt bath tonight for about 25 minutes. I didn't add any lavender or other oils though. My hips, back, and knees have been in pain and hurting from lifting some stuff, medical issues, and also the cold weather. I ran a lot of errands tonight in the snow, and also got some groceries, etc. It's been a year since I had the time to soak in a hot bath. So, it was good, but now I feel dehydrated and tired from the Epsom Salt bath. My sister has been having hip pain, too, from shoveling snow off and on for the past two weeks. But she didn't take an Epsom Salt bath. Epsom salt lotions and heat pads also are beneficial and therapeutic for people who don't have time to soak in an Epsom Salt bath or who don't have access to a bathtub or who only take showers. Thanks for sharing, and have a nice week.

hmmm seems like 2 cups is a very small amount considering the ratio of H2O to MGSO4. I usually put the entire large milk carton of Epsom salts in my bath. Since Mg is a cation+ it slightly dehydrates you and therefore i usually drink a large bottle of Smart or coconut water because of the electrolytes. A large tub of H2O holds about 60 to 70 galllons approx. of Water. The ratio of what you add is important. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @ClarkPotter

    • @ClarkPotter

You are not suposed to just drop the oil in the bath. The oil will stay on the surface and could cause skin problems, although lavender is usually mild. Other oils can cause rashes, redness, itching, etc when just dropped in like that
