- This was annoying. Was driving me crazy for a while, was time to figure out where it was coming from. Is it me or did GM actually make it like this to rub against the metal ring??

Great video Nick
I have the same squeak. And my noise was coming from the hood release latch.
What a good hubby helping the wife like that. Lol
Wife scared to climb ladder lol
mine makes a noise when hitting the break at low speed. like when I make a stop it creaks like an old bed
Glad you've got it but don't understand why it has dropped...... Accident damage...? Excellent job at the wedding venue brođđđđđđđđ you've done a fantastic job on the Silverado đ
Thanks sir, Iâll look into steering column more deeper to find out
@@FixItNick better safe than sorry bro
There should be a rubber shroud around the shaft bolted to the 2 holes on the housing its rubbing against
Iâll do more digging
I just looked under the dash of my 18 GMC sierra and that bracket is the same on mine; however, my steering shaft is nice and tight. It does not have play like yours. Maybe one of the steering bearings is worn or broken from the initial accident?
Yes that could be, might need to disassemble few things, for now it dies t annoy me at least lol
Love it
Thx
check steering have bearing or bushing? if bushing replace with nylon ones, any good machinest can make one
Iâll take some stuff apart to see what I can find
Have you tried to change steering wheel angle? If that will not help I would take dremel and take out a bit of bracket material.
Angle doesnât effect it, Iâll probably take apart column when have time to see
Zip ties & duct tape how else could we fix so many things?! Cool video!
Thx, I wish I could fix with duck-tape lol
FixItNick For the GM 900 series and the popular squeaks and rattles duck tape is put over on top the clips of the dash boards before reinstalling them just taking a little strip and placing it on the clip and then installing it
My problem was the plastic cover underneath the steering wheel column. Not sure what itâs called. But if you take it off, thereâs a few screws that get loose and rattle against the plastic and metal. If anyone needs more help I can definitely help you out. Just hit me up.
Thx bro, Iâll dig in there to see
I had the same problem with my 2015 Silverado. The rattle under the dash was so annoying ! There's I think 6 bolts (maybe only 4) on that plastic kick panel directly under the steering column. They were all worked loose, I tightened them back up & it returned awhile later. I took them all back out & covered them with clear silicone (it's all I had without going to store).. run em back in snug & problem solved. No more annoying rattle !
You're the best
Thx lol
my 2001 has a plastic bushing inside the base of the steering column they were too cheap to use a quality part good luck maybe have a bronze or aluminum one Machined?
Yea itâs weird, maybe something is missing canât tell
Where can I get that rear bed cover that you have?
Softopper.com
Thank you đand nice video man ..!!!
what happen this black silverrado? I can not seeing this turck from your video
Itâs sold now, was my fav
Hey Nick. Its lower column bearing that's broken.
Hey there, where is this bearing located? I couldnât see any bearings, would have to take column apart?
@@FixItNick it holds steering angle sensor. It's in the same area that you installed zip tie. You may need to take the column out to replace.
Under hood loose bolts
Check the steering bearings they might be shot
Probably hiding lol
đđâïž
Thx
MISSING PLASTIC PART. LOOKS LIJE SOMTHNG GOES THERE
