I was alright... until Armin spoke. He probably shared the most screen time with Rene and Aron, so it's fitting he got the last word. For an actor, I can imagine no finer tribute than a quote from The Bard. Godspeed to them both.
Too bad Wesley got the last word....
Same here~ Armin's scenes with Rene and with Aron, as two duos and as a trio, are some of my favorite DS9 moments
Yeah, that's when I started crying.
Same here. I teared up. Armin says good things on twitter too.. probably my favorite.
Same 😞😓
I still feel that DS9 is the ultimate expression of Star Trek.
i loved ds9 but.... in what way does religious metaphysical/supernatural weirdness scream sci fi space exploration?
@@boingboingerson1649 The "weirdness" is part of the human experience. Exploring inner space by using outer space has always been a theme in Star Trek. That's part of the draw.
@@boingboingerson1649 In what way does it not?
One THOUSAND percent! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌I read a sci-fi magazine article about ten years ago where someone said (summarizing): "Star Trek's iconography is actually NOT about the people that go to the planets, and the aliens, and super-science etc.. Really, EVERY other sci-fi mythology does the SAME thing. The iconography of Trek is actually in the fact that it explores.......the human condition itself! It just uses all the planets and aliens as a backdrop for that exploration. So using that criteria, Deep Space Nine is not an offense to Roddenberry's vision, just because they don't go exploring a different planet every week. It is actually.......the EPITOME of his vision." 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
@@roomtemp6374 Jeffery Combs once explained Deep Space Nine in the most BRILLIANT way I have EVER heard: "To those who say our show wasn't about exploration: The other shows explored the journey OUTside, ours was about the journey INside! (each character)"🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 Like Ira Behr also basically said during the retrospect: Nog (a THIRD tier character) had more overall character development than any of the MAIN characters from Next. Gen.! 😮It's pretty staggering when you think about it.
Big, big props to Star Trek: Discovery for quietly adding the Eisenberg-class USS Nog to the Starfleet of the 32nd century. The idea that Nog was remembered so long after his death makes me smile.
He was the first Ferengi in Starfleet, so similar to Worf as a 'first' of his race.
Starcrap Disgracery did one thing right.
@@PikeBishop1 lol yup
Well discovery is garbage tho so
Oh dod I didnt know that ❤️❤️❤️
On a separate note, whoever cast Cirroc as Jake Sisko must have been a time traveler. He now looks like he could be cast as Ben Sisko in place off Avery Brooks
I really had to do a double take on him, I was like "Wow, did Avery just age backwards or..."
I can't get over how much he looks like him. If he shaved the sides of his beard he'd be the spitting image of him.
@@stranglewankhitman4936 they were close on the set and stayed that way long after DS9 was over. It really was like father and son.
Avery Brookes called Lofton his son.
whoa.... you're right! man i wonder if they could make a movie right now of ds9
I had the pleasure of meeting Aaron Eisenberg at a tiny little Con in my town. I've never met a more friendly, welcoming actor towards a fan. He made ME feel important. We spoke for 20-30 unforgettable minutes. I will never forget him.
thank you for sharing this :)
Aron Eisenberg? Tiny little con?
Is that a short joke?
That's a special memory, something to be treasured. Thank you for sharing :)
@@MKDumas1981 it's a con for little people, those with dwarfism.
Yes, absolutely. I met Aron at DST in the UK, he was the highlight of my trip. He was a great listener, and had a fun sense of humor. I have social anxiety but he made me feel welcomed and at ease. When the photo op was over, he asked me to stay when the staff were rushing me to leave and he picked up where we left off with our conversation the previous day. Such a kindhearted man and such a big loss to the world. You are missed, Aron.
There's a scene from 'It's Only a Paper Moon' where Nog is explaining to Vic Fontaine why he joined up and how he couldn't believe that he would lose a leg - it's one of my favourite pieces of acting of all time. RIP Aron and Rene.
Yup. It's a powerful scene showing an officer at his most vulnerable. Brilliant acting from Aron throughout the whole of Nog's character development arc. Even as a cheeky-cum-naughty kid you see the character and mindset Aron has built for Nog and then the writers allowed the character to grow and become a main part of DS9 over coming seasons which was brilliant because you could see the range of Aron's abilities in growing the character from cheeky scamp teenager to determined young adult to cadet to officer and his performances grew with it. He is greatly missed as a character, as an actor, as a human being. 💔
Wow. I really need to learn how to use punctuation.
That’s an incredible scene. I’ve heard that soldiers who have suffered PTSD have said that scene matches their own struggles. One of the great moments in Star Trek of having an alien express to a hologram the most human emotions.
I would have to agree. This was one of, if not my favorite episode of all the second generation Treks. The quality of acting here was off the charts.
I think the only other episode that I rank close to this was the Voyager episode "Real Life" where the Doctor made a holographic family. The end of that one brings me to tears even today, and I've seen it a half-dozen times.
@@SpikeManZombie Yea but the vic fontaine stuff............. yikes
This was the best cast Star Trek ever had. The main cast was amazing and then you had all these incredible performances from people like Andrew Robinson, Marc Alaimo, Jeffrey Combs, Max Grodenchik. DS9 just hasn't been topped.
RIP Rene and Aron
They really did nail casting the recurring cast for DS9, didn’t they? JG Hertzler, Salome Jens, Louise Fletcher, Wallace Shawn, and Robert O’Reilly all come to mind as just superb, too. Just very, very good.
indeed , we meet Andrew Robinson at comic con.He was easy to approach and talk too...then theres that sinister scorpio character he played in dirty harry...awesome...jesus wept
@@lekoman Good point! Even the guest or recurring characters where incredibly interesting and well thought out.
DS9 was the Dream Team. Even the bench players were powerhouses. The DS9 cast and the Harry Potter cast were my favorite collection of actors in a show / movie.
@@bohemianbeaumontfilmsltd9418 After I saw your comment, I just had to pull out my "Dirty Harry" box set of all 5 DH films, to watch the movie you mentioned 😁
Nana talks about helping Rene die, helping him talk about it, that is so incredibly important and it is so hard for people to do. I work in healthcare and I know how hard that is and how important it is. I am glad you were there for him and I am sure he was very happy to have your help. It is very touching to hear all of your remembrances of Aaron and Rene. DS9 was a great series.
Shame we didn't get to hear Cirroc's thoughts too, he shared a lot of screen time with Aron
They had a DS9 podcast together and it's really good. He died while podcast was pretty young and he talk a lot about him after he passed
@@johnblack3204 Thought worth mentioning. Cirroc has continued "The Seventh Rule" podcast. He and others are still making it. And I am a Patreon supporter of it.
The podcast is currently on season 3, episode 19 "Through the Looking Glass".
So, actually if you watch the whole thing, there's a question directed to Cirroc's which is all about Eisnberg and Jake and Nog's realtionship. it's around 14:38 in: czcams.com/video/AKJFcJWiQRY/video.html
Yeah that's odd.
René and Aron are both now part of the Great Link, along with Leonard, DeForest, James, Anton, and all of those the Star Trek universe has lost. For the rest of time, they will always be remembered for what they gave us. I can't think of any greater accomplishment than that.
DS9 had the best storylines and character development! Love it!!!
It was ahead of its time. The long story arcs were a breakthrough and frowned upon by many experts at the time. Now every series is made that way.
absolutly, I loved the carater quark
DS9 is a great series. It's currently re-running on the Jones! Too Channel in New Zealand.
Yeah, it was the best Star Trek series to me. Even though I was very sceptical how a story of a spacestation could be interesting at the start, it taught me otherwise.
DS9 was intelligently written - Like the episode Far Beyond The Stars.
I felt that.
I'm on Season 4 of DS9 and I have to be perfectly honest, I'm liking it more than The Next Generation. The characters on the show just feel more alive, more interesting. Don't get me wrong, I love TNG, but I felt like only a few characters on that show really shined, whereas on DS9, all the characters shined brightly. Alright, I got to get back to watching more.
Season 4 of DS9?! It only gets better from there on. I hope you finished the whole thing!
@@indranidasgupta8982 I did. I'm on Enterprise, now. I've just finished Voyager.
@Ghost did you like Voyager? I’m rewatching that one via Paramount. And what do you think of Enterprise?
Well the characters of TNG are "less alive", or perhaps "less human" kind of by design. TNG, especially in the earlier seasons under the guidance of Gene Roddenberry, presents an utopian future where not only our technology has progressed but so has humanity, who no longer possesses the flaws and vices of the past. DS9 stands in a raw contrast to that with humans drinking themselves silly all the time and and the holodeck acting as a brothel and all that. I mean the rethawed, frozen humans of the past from TNG's season 1 would fit just fine on the Deep Space 9.
Don't get me wrong, I love DS9, its characters like Dukat and Garak in particular will stay with me forever. But I do think it traded off a little piece of what made trek "trek".
@@valentinolli8955 but like you said, TNG characters were very sanitized. TOS characters were not, however. TOS characters also drank themselves silly at times and got up to no good. If you ask me, Gene Roddenberry did some revisionism on his own product before firing off TNG because he was taking everything Trek too seriously by the time the 80s came around to the point where his own production people were having issues with his ultra-utopian vision for the 24th century - a vision that his own 23rd century product (TOS) did not espouse. If you ask me, DS9 hewed closer to the original Kirk-Spock-Scotty dynamic than did TNG.
I resisted Deep Space 9 for such a long time for no reason and then it went and turned out to be my absolute favorite.
as a 90´s child: gosh I am feeling old now, watching deep space 9, it was my childhood. Aaron was such a force as an actor, like palpatine. He WAS Deep Space Nine, he WAS Star Trek for me.
Watching this, I first thought Armin was being distant, in a negative way. He wasn't laughing with the others, or smiling with them. However watching and listening to him, I think the loss of his friends hit him extremely hard, and he was doing all he could to keep it together. He summed it up well, with the Shakespeare quote.
Armin will always be one of my favorites!.
I love Armin too, he always has such kind words for people
Armin worked closely with both of them. So their deaths probably hit him pretty hard.
Tears in my eyes after hearing the crack in his voice 🥺
In another doc called "What we left behind" Armin discusses how the ferengi actors were basically a real family, that would stay over Armin's home to work on their lines for ferengi centered episodes. So this may well have felt like he lost his nephew.
Wow. Quark quoting the Shakespeare, voice shaking. Gave me chills.
I'm halfway thru ds9 again, i am appreciating it more than the first time.
Made me cry. We're just coming to the final episode in the UK, but it's being shown from the beginning after that. My favourite of the Star Trek series
SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hated it in the 90s. Watched it in 2008 and enjoyed it a bit more, the started it 3 months ago and binged it. SOME OF THE BEST STAR TREK, totally ahead of its time!!!!!!! I started it again 6 days ago, nearly on season 3 already 🤣🤣🤣
Watching this has made me realise Discovery lacks so much heart and soul. Its really not good
@@Canthatcrazy I haven't watched Discovery at all. Nothing will top DS9 for me now. Seeing zoom chats like this makes me love the actors more xx
@@jacquidicks2466 Discovery has a massive identity crisis. Season 1 got really, REALLY good and dark the last 5 episodes of season 1, all set in the Mirrorverse. But then in season 2 they left the Mirrorverse and tried to correct everything the old fans hated and please them, and keep the new fans happy. Season 2 was so confusing, and made no sense at all in parts.
It is literally The Michael Burnham Show. She knows EVERYTHING, and saves everyone every episode to the point of feminism being a parody, the rest of the crew are just props in her world.
Season 3 theyve sent the ship 900 years in the future to erase it from history under a gagging order for the people in the present, so no one learns about what Discovery did to destroy Star Trek canon. Its just plagued with bad writing, underdeveloped ideas, and lacks any heart.
You should try it though, coz there are some great bits in the Mirrorverse.
Have you seen Lower Decks!!!🤢🤢🤢
Its horrific.
@@Canthatcrazy I'll take a look! I didn't start watch Trek at all until about 30 years ago. I have no inclination to watch TOS, but loved TNG. Started watching Voyager and Enterprise, but lost interest. DS9 held me from the start. My husband loves calling me a geek!
Omg watching this video you can practically feeling the emotions pouring off them. The quote from Armin at the end set me off with tears.
RIP Rene & Aron.
Taken from Hamlet, where he was pining for his recently deceased father and king. Great words used.
Armin really touched me as well as I sit here crying.
I loved his headmaster in Buffy seasons 2 and 3. The 2 shows were shot at the same time. Not many actors get cast in 2 iconic series. Neither have dated. That's even rarer.
The dynamic between Quark and Odo on DS9 was just amazing. Those two actors could play off each other with such brilliance. They are both my favorite actors on DS9 and if I had to pick a third, I'd probably go with Garak. Andrew Robinson was an amazing actor and brought pure brilliance to Garak's role. In the Pale Moonlight really showed just how much depth Robinson could bring to Garak's role.
I have to agree with everything you wrote. All three of them were my favorite characters as well.
When Aron passed away, I was in hospital from renal failure; I had no idea until I got home; and it really hit home. He played one of my favourite characters (Nog rocks), and he passed away from something I was dealing with myself. I didn’t know he was adopted, I was a foster child. I hold DS9 even closer now;.. not just because I changed my name legally to B’Elanna Nerys, but because the actors in this series; show their true human vulnerability.
Wow Nana is still absolutely stunningly beautiful even with grey hair. What a gorgeous woman.
She looks better now than during the show.
@@helloim3j I was in my early 20s when the show aired, and back then I had a huge crush on Major Kira.
@@helloim3j agree 100%
Both Terry and Nana look better now than they did on the show!
Any chance y'all could stop objectifying a woman during a fucking eulogy?
R.I.P. to Aron and Rene... I loved Nog and Odo on DS9!!!
A friend of mine went to a Star Trek convention and met Aron. They talked for a time and became friends on Facebook. When my friend got married he posted photos up of his wedding day. Aron commented on them congratulating my friend and his wife and wishing them happiness. My friend still talks about it to this day. I think we all should be more like Aron. Spreading positivity, kindness and love.
Aron and René were terrific people.
DS9 deserved at least one follow up movie. Sadly that will never happen now.
Hopefully it can! The show can pick up twenty-something years after the Prophet disappeared.
@@Himmiefan That would be awesome if they would.
Sometimes I am glad it didn't get a movie. It would just be a chance to ruin it...
@@NihilNullifier I honestly feel that DS 9 reached a satisfying and complete conclusion. The last shot is a like finishing the last page of a wonderful book and slowly closing the cover.
@@NihilNullifier Oh come on, they would put Will Ferrill in it!
Hats off to the best of Trek, and this from someone who watched TOS in original broadcast
DS9's my personal favourite, given how different it was from TNG and VOY. It was serialized! There was political intrigue! There was war, and dealing with the aftermath of war!
Out of all the Trek series this one had the most rounded out characters from top to bottom.I love all the treks but this one took changes and was better for it!
Loved this series! Still get a kick out of Trial and Tribulations! “ I LIED TO CAPTAIN KIRK” This show is priceless!
@@xunit62 And the most texture among the characters. Far and above my favorite from its first episode.
Agreed. TOS will always have a special place in my heart. DS9 was the best Trek
I am a life long Star Wars and Babylon 5 fan. But DS9 is one hell of a series. It had top actors. And you can feel it in every episode.
I've been a long time fan of Doctor Who and Star Wars and I loved the 2009 reboot of Star Trek. DS9 was a truly great science fiction series. Great cast. The series did something different and it was darker. It had memorable characters and some of the best episodes/storylines in the Star Trek franchise. Jadzia Dax, Odo and Kira Nerys in my opinion were the best characters in DS9. I like to believe Bonanza was a major influence behind the show as it was about Ben Sisko living on DS9 with his son Jake following the death of his wife Jennifer. Rene and Aron's demises is a huge loss to the Star Trek franchise. Odo was a great character and Nog had one of the best character arcs and character developments in the series. Nog started off as a mischievous young Ferengi who later changed and became a Starfleet officer and DS9 crew member. It's sad Rene and Aron are gone. May they rest in peace.
Strange one for me, as I love Star Wars, Trek and B5 was my favourite ever series until Breaking Bad came round; but I could never get into DS9 (nor Voyager for that matter). I did hear DS9 got a lot more interesting as the series went on, but I found what I saw of the first few series, pedestrian. Maybe I should give it another go someday.
I had the honor of meeting Nana and Rene a few years ago at a convention. They seemed very close. I really loved DS9; it's a show that brings me back to my teenage years in the 90s when I had little responsibility and times seemed innocent. These days even Trek can be downbeat, so I just avoid watching Discovery or Picard. DS9 was a gem though.
There`s a reason why nowadays "Star Trek" is sooo downbeat:

Armin and Rene were good friends in real life. It's very hard for Armin.
I was crying at the end; mourning
with you all.....
Nana Visitor her story I find heartbreaking, very poetic that in real life in the proces of dying she was there for Rene Auberjonais in a way similar as she was in the series worh Odo. Armin Shimerman such deep touching words as well, cannot keep it dry...
I was close to tears the entire time but when Armin‘s voice started to break, the Shakespeare quote and all, I lost it. Those guys, they will never be forgotten.
Who the hell would down vote this?! It's wonderful.
Also I'm sorry Nana, but all through that marvellous heartfelt speech, I couldn't take my eyes off those two gorgeous dogs play fighting in the background.
Must be people too teared up to distinguish up and down-vote button >.
Let's hope those who did had reasons not of darkness and fear, but yes, maybe because their eyes were teared up or because their cute kitten walked on the keyboard and accidentally stepped on downvote.
Likewise, they upstaged mama!
The chemistry between Odo and Quark on the show is so fun to watch. I still binge watch DS9 all the time. Definitely my favorite series. RIP Rene. RIP Aron. You guys have been a huge part of my life. Thanks for the entertainment.
I've literally just finished ds9 2 minutes ago...and man...im down bad..that show was absolutely legendary..i didn't start watching star trek till last year...and it has brought tears to my eyes and joy to my life..thank you all
I'm in the middle of season 6. Such a powerful show. And avery Brooks and sisko just keep leveling up every season with amazing acting and powerful scenes. Just saw him and dukat stranded on that planet. Very disturbing scenes
It's an amazing show dealing with many facets of life.
First off, it's a show that starts out as a blackman trying to raise his son as a single father. The writing between Jake and Ben is great throughout the series. There's moments when Jake needs fathering, but there's also times when Ben makes mistakes and his son is giving him help and advice.
Parents are far from perfect and this show shows that dynamic very well in how they learn from each other and overall love each other.
This is such a great role model, not only for black men, but for all men and people who go through difficult times.
The series also touches on many themes, like the mixing of different races, also difficult (for some people,) homosexuality.
The series is full of humor, fun, serious and amazing moments. It was an amazing cast. I love how diversified it was, way before it was in fashion.
Terry Farrell is one of the most beautiful womean i ever saw in my live
she is gorgeous
I like nana visitor
She is also beautiful as a person, unlike some other ladies of Trek
@@Scripture-Man oh. pray tell
@@hellbent18 Well it's only personal opinion but I don't like Sirtis and MacFadden from TNG. They are both feminist types with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. It's not becoming of a woman. Terry is softer, sweeter, and more vulnerable, more what I'd call a real woman.
ngl - that had me choked up. I was fortunate to meet both men, and to actually watch Rene on stage in a few plays and the loss to the stage and screen is incalculable. Aron I will remember from having one of those "waiting by the elevator moments" at a convention once, and he was speaking animatedly to Nana Visitor about his son. His hands were so expressive as he talked that I later told a friend I was surprised he didn't levitate like a hummingbird. So spirited and earnest and such a proud father. I know those who loved him and worked with him must miss him dearly.
Considering how shitty 2020’s been, I’m in tears right now seeing all the lovely faces of the DS9 cast. It feels as if it were yesterday when they all had their poignant parting celebration at Vic Fontaine’s holosuite.
The emptiness, rather, the void they leave behind is a beautiful, precious thing. It's such an incredible a gift of talent and character that they gave to all of us, and we are blessed that we may all be so privileged to feel such loss. Rene, Aaron, Rest in peace. You inspire the best in humanity.
Star Trek was a part of my childhood and I watched a lot of DS9 in the 90s. Condolences to the cast and thank you!
Armin's words broke me.
I can't help but tearing up again, even after all this time.
Two great actors.
Two great personalities.
I have nothing but the most thankful appreciation of the work they did for us.
Miss that show and the many wonderful actors who brought those thoughtful characters to life. RIP Aron and Rene...
Love the Shakespeare quote at the end by Armin. DS9 is a great, great show and added so much to the Trek universe. Aron and Rene are missed dearly by we Trekkies. (Interestingly, that same line quoted by Armin was said by Picard in "The Most Toys" when he was reflecting on Data's death.)
Us. Missed by us Trekkies. Don't hate me but I had to do that. Btw, your sentiment about DS9 and Aron and Rene are gold. I fully agree.
Sitting here in tears. I didn't know that Aron died a few months ago. When we went on this Corona Virus lockdown, I realized that it'd been decades since I last watched DS9, so I binged the entire show over the next 5 months.
Nana is still absolutely stunning. That grey pixie cut is everything
I still have a crush on her smile.....priceless. ❤
Rene was an outstanding actor! RIP
Nana and Terry are absolutely Beautiful
Ok... this made me cry... As Massive DS9 fan i was heartbroken at the loss of Aron and as a huge fan of Boston Legal also the loss of Rene was a double whammy... I love listening to the cast talk about the show and each other. It really warms my heart
Dave M, thanks for mentioning Boston Legal. I remembered Benson as the first series I saw Rene on and was racking my brain as to the other shows I loved him on.
Boston legal...gosh, I need a rewatch, so found memories of that show!
DS9 is the show that means more to me than any other. This cast, these writers, the legacy they created made them all feel like friends you haven't met yet. (Though I've has the opportunity to meet more of them briefly.) We the fans mourn and celebrate both Aron and Rene. My heart goes out to you all.
Could Ira please take over the franchise! Pleeeeaaaase
@MUDDHORN REPLICAS and Doug Drexler and the Okudas! All of them should be on the Trek-head-honcho board
I fully agree!!!
I'd kinda like a mix of Kurtzman's guys and the DS9 staff.
Imagine what a continuation of DS9 could be like with the production values of DSC!
@@jolantru3085 So copy/pasted starships and obnoxious lens flare? :D
Wow... what a way to detract from dead people and make ur about your whining
This was very nice, I loved it, but I wish Avery Brooks and Colm Meaney had joined them. Oh well.
@Joe Tamari Avery Brooks has no use for the current state of Star Trek and Colm Meaney is doing lots of work elsewhere
Avery is quite tired of being associated with star trek, and he has no use for modern "evolutions," of human existence
I am just watching DS9 all again. And having good time. Again. Thank you to everyone in every single Star Trek to show us, where humanity should be heading.
Nog was my favorite--Aaron did an amazing job with that character. He brought so much spirit and brightness to it.
Terry is so beautiful, even all these years later. Also, I never really appreciated how difficult it must have been for these actors to be in heavy makeup for hours on end, throughout the entire series. But then Michael Dorn did Next Gen, DS9, and movies...
Aww, man... I wasn't gonna' cry, but Armin done went and fixed that!
Even though I'm not a huge fan of the current direction of Star Trek, it does warm my heart to see the remaining cast of DS9 is doing well. Just wish Hawke was there as well!
As someone just getting into deep space nine Odo is definitely my favorite character and I’m sadly just appreciate all of Rene’s work and I find it sad I began appreciating his work a couple years after the man died
RIP Rene and Aaron
Deep space nine had some of the best and deepest story arcs of the entire franchise. I rank it as the best ST spin off story wise
Man the layers of armin are just amazing.
I had the pleasure of being Aron's personal assistant at the London, Ontario, Canada Forest City Comic Con. As we were setting up his booth, he was on and off the phone, talking to his employees in California. He owned a video production company and the team was going out to shoot video of a wedding for a rather difficult woman. It took about an hour before he was assured that the team had everything in place and had it under control. He disconnected the call and continued to lay out his photos and quietly said "after that, I could use a hug". I replied, "you're in luck! I'm a man who likes to hug!" And we did, with the con crowd already coming into the vendor room. What a pair we must have been! Both of us bald and me almost twice his height! I only knew him for a few hours that day. I learned he was a shrewd business man, a loving husband and caring father, an absolute prince with his fans and a consummate story teller (which he demonstrated in his one hour talk panel). I also learned, as several of these people mentioned, that was was a truly sweet person. I stayed in touch with him through Facebook after the con and was saddened by his passing. We had talked quite a bit about his struggles with kidney transplants. But, all good things must come to end. I'm am happy that I had the chance to know him, even briefly. My world is that much brighter as a result.
I think DS9 was the best show from that period with fantastic actors portraying amazing characters and a show I will always hold close to my heart👍👍👍
Siege of AR15 is one of the best Nog episodes.
I love watching the first season episodes where Sisko is upset that his son is hanging around this Ferengi kid who's becoming a bad influence on him. Years later, Sisko's last official act was to promote him to a Lieutenant.
This video was moving but the intensity came at the end when Armin's voice broke as he quoted Shakespeare. RIP Rene, Aron. You will never be forgotten.
I love this cast (and show) so much! RIP Rene and Aron!
When Armin did the tribute at the end, it looked like he and Nana were about to cry. 💔😢
Aaron Eisenberg was phenomenal in the episode "It's Only a Paper Moon". he really knocked out of the park.
I’m feeling my eyes well up listening to Armin Shimerman talk about them. I’m rewatching DS9 again through its entirety and the scene of Nog telling Sisko why he wants to join Starfleet and Odo admitting to Garak under torture he wants to go home to the Founders are two of the most poet pieces of acting not just in Science Fiction but in all genres.
They were both great actors that brought so much good stuff to DS9.
R.I.P while living forever as Star Trek legends.
Very touched by your tributes to both lost colleagues. I enjoyed the series very much. To hear your words now, creates another layer of love that i have for you and the show. Thank you.
To hear quark praise Odo in this way has brought many of us to tears I believe
I love Them all...from TNG, DS9, Voyager to Enterprise...
Great actors who gives us the world of tomorrow...and a look in their lifes...
Thanks for this great Years
Beautiful group of human being-souls, lovingly reminiscing about two other beautiful souls who have now each finished carving the latest facets into their eternal soul's diamonds...These types of beautiful moments - both on screen and off - are what have always made Star trek, and all the phenomenal people who have been a part of it, so stellar, priceless, and incomparable.
DS9 was real Trek. So glad to see them all together!
Before I watch all of DS9 I thought TNG could not be surpassed. I thought it was just fans hyping up DS9 but after watching the whole season yall was right. DS9 is epic.
Surely this isn't the full video? Cirroc wasn't spoken to nor did he get a chance to say anything and yet he shared the most scenes with Aaron and probably knew him best during that time.
I can't speak for Cirroc, but I think he was okay with cast getting their say on Aron and Rene as Cirroc has had all the cast at one time or another on his podcast "The Seventh Rule" where he's shared countless stories about Aron.
I agree, some of this video is cut and not just because of Cirroc. Seems like Wil is starting his speech mid-sentence at the beginning.
Thier not gone.. They are just waiting on a bigger set : )
They are with DeForest, James, Leonard, Majel, and Gene. Preparing the next big series.
@@DXKramer meanwhile Doohan is haunting the ISS 🥺🥺🥺😭
anyone else amazed at how accurate they were when they aged terry farrell in the episode where sisco is rubber banded through time? here we are years later and she ACTUALLY looks like she did in that episode.
what a beautiful tribute from the people who knew them. Thank you one and all for this
It’s hard to listen to this. Very emotional.
Renè and Aron. Two beautiful souls. Gone but not forgotten.
Terry Farrell has gotten more beautiful with age.
@@danpattyboucher523 Wow! She was 22 when she did The Twilight Zone.
How has she managed it, gorgeous lady, Nana’s pretty fit still too
Amazing how great she looks after all this time.
Did you guys look up her name because she is hot? lol
@@sweetguy19762 it's quite normal to know the names of the actors of a show you like i think?
Imagine my complete surprise to see René Murat Auberjonois in the sit come jeffersons with all those pens/ pencils placed in his shirt breast pocket. Then realising that again he also acted in my assortment childhood sitcoms. My golden era too. Jogged my memory. R.I.P.
I remember him from Benson.😁
The loss of these two is sad. They brought true life to their characters, which is how we buy into the story. I wish we could have heard from Cirroc, though.
Wow. That was unexpectedly moving. Lovely sentiments about two tremendous performers. I’m going through “DS9” right now (I’m on season three) and I’m enjoying every moment. It’s still my overall favourite Trek series!
I loved the show as a kid, I adore it as an adult. I morn for the loss of such incredible talent.
Rene was one of the only things that kept me there, his character is one of the most interesting and curious ever, his jorney was epic to the end!
Your tribute Aron and René was so moving and truly authentic.
RIP guys. DS9 was an amazing show and they were a big part of what made it great.
Renee was a NYC, classically trained, Broadway actor. Nothing is more serious as a profession
these guys are all amazing!! I miss this show so much, I rewatch it every few months. great stories, great actors, great fun.
I'm just a nobody. Random dude wandering through life. Unfortunately, I never met Aron, simply enjoyed his character... I encountered René on Twitter, and we exchanged a few times... Just as an audience member, I felt their passing and sort of miss them.
How must it be for friends such as this, for family?
The only consolation I (for one) can offer is that I (and many others) loved them for who they portrayed, for how they touched our hearts and souls with their work.
It's thin.
It's all I have.
...and just remember that there are others - in healthcare, teaching, social work... all kinds - who, if we knew them as we knew Aron's and René's characters, we would mourn as much. Remember these too.

"Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most human."
They were both great actors and they are missed by friends and family and the fans. I’m glad I got the opportunity to meet Aron at a convention. Thank you for sharing these memories of two amazing men. RIP
DS9 was my FAVORITE star trek. Great cast. Great stories. Thank you all for being part of all of our lives. I miss you all!
Cirroc Lofton: A good listener
I'm going to assume that his comments were edited out for some good reason.
@@larrysmith2638 So, actually if you watch the whole thing, there's a question directed to Cirroc's which is all about Eisnberg and Jake and Nog's realtionship. it's around 14:38 in: czcams.com/video/AKJFcJWiQRY/video.html
@@esmena1295 Thanks!
Fondly remembered, dearly missed, forever grateful.
I got a lump in my throat & tears in my eyes after this #RipRene #RipAron & thank you for the amazing work
I enjoyed watching all of the Star Treks, but DS9 was truly special. Such great stories and characters! Loved seeing this tribute by some of the cast. The DS9 finale was without a doubt the best and most emotional of all Star Trek finales.
The best Trek series ever
Aron and Rene were great actors on a really inspiring show.
Such a special cast. They meant so much to each other
Star Trek has always been there for me. All of the hard work that you all put into to it makes you INSPIRATIONS.
Love you guys and those who passed. I miss the show and the heart of what Gene Roddenberry was. Thank you for what u guys do always for the fans!❤
DS9 had the most interesting characters of any startrek. Garak was definitely a favourite of mine! Lol Such a mysterious Jekyll and Hyde character. The show is full of deep and fascinating characters.
