- I take the brand new YT Capra Core 1 MX to Rogate Downhill to ride it for the first time, and see whether it's any good! At £2699 it's one of the more budget friendly options on the market right now so i'm really interested to see how it gets down. Got this bike for a few more weeks so if there's any specific content you want to see, then let me know in the comments!

I feel the pain of getting a 5 second clip then having to walk back up and getting the camera 😭
haha init, i find it weirdly rewarding tho...you get the exact shot you want, and you don't have to rely on anyone else to make content. Sometimes its nice to know you're the one that shot, rode and edited!
@@willgreenfield oh for sure bro! I understand that
Nice chin diaper.
@@Adub86 cheers mate
Great to see a return to this type of edit Will, just you destroying some great trails on a killer bike 😎👍
Thank you Tim! :)
Sick riding Will! Nice to see you at Rogate that day👊🏻
Bro you made this video look so professional.Good job
Thank you very much!
This video is just like old times!
The good ol days
THIS !
Wow - great edit and superior riding. Nice one, centurion.
Thank you Centurion, glad u enjoyed it!
Hey Will, I am new to your channel.Just wanted to say, i love the bike. It is my favorite color. You really do shred, I was very impressed. Keep on making those fun videos. Don
Hey Don! Thank you for the kind words, i really appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the video! Cheers
Nice bike nice riding. Good job on the sound in this vid. Enjoyed it
Thank you! Glad you mentioned the sound, i try and do my best to make sure the audio is always decent in these vids so its nice to hear you mention it! Cheers for watching :)
Can’t wait to shred mine …. Arriving in 2 days ❤ anyway…. U ride so fast and with great style 🤘🤘🤘🤘greetings from Italy
I keep going back and forth on MX vs 29!!!!
This is the perfect first bike to buy and upgrade over time!
Yep definitely! Loving it so far, but some lighter wheels and better brakes would be great upgrades for the future
Wow amazing
Crazy how I just got myself a 2022 Core 3 for 2500 instead of 4500. YT has great sales and value
absolutely jocelynnn
perfect... JOCELYNNNNN
Your GoPro settings are epic man! You running superview or the even wider FOV? Sick riding man! Love the new YT!
Thank you bro, running hyperview at 5.3k 30fps, using the standard hypersmooth stabilization. Shot in the flat profile and then slapped a custom LUT on it and played with the colours/exposure a bit! Cheers boss glad you enjoyed it!
@@willgreenfield Damn son! Settings are dialed in. Thanks for the reply and looking forward to the next vid!
Could you please do a tutorial on how to shred berms like that - you are an expert in doing so and i wanna be as cool as you ;-)
Haha not sure about expert! But thank you bro, will maybe try and make a video about it in the future :)
Agreed - a cornering tutorial would be sick. You ride those berms real nice Will
@@A15Beats Thank you bro, i appreciate that! Maybe i'll try and film one soon
Amazing vid new sub that’s the bike I’m planning on getting the core 1 or 2 next any tips before buying
Thanks! Really glad you enjoyed the vid! Um no tips really but just be ready to upgrade a few bits over time if you ride hard... wheels will be the first thing to go i reckon. Still great bikes especially for the price!
Mate this is an amazing video!
What camera do you use if you don’t mind me asking? 🎉
Thank you bro! Used a Sony ZV-1 to film this, really good little camera, would definitely recommend it for CZcams vids...
No music.
Nice Shots.
I love it.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Incredible riding as always man. How was the Zeb base damper? Did it keep you up in the travel? Haven’t seen much on the rush rc damoer. I got one in order, about to pull the trigger on the charger 3 upgrade barely used for $200.
Thank you! I would say it's an ok damper for the average rider, lack of compression adjustment isn't ideal if you like to fine tune, but the stock tune rides great for people who aren't too bothered about messing with suspension damping. To be fair i haven't ridden enough rough technical trails on it yet to give a detailed verdict but i'd honestly suggest waiting and trying this damper for a bit before spending a couple hundred dollars on a charger upgrade... you may like it!
@@willgreenfield thanks brother. Solid feedback. By the time my bike arrives they’ll likely be announcing the charger 3.1. Keep shredding! Can’t wait for the next vid to drop.
I love these videos. I just wanna go rogate now
Thank you bro, glad you enjoyed it! I would defo recommend going, especially after the recent rain, its running sick!
Hello, great video I loved the sound and video quality. I also have a question, what size are you and what is the size of the bike?
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! I am 6ft and this was a size Large!
@@willgreenfield Hi there nice review. I'm also 6 ft with 32in inseam. Do you wish you chose the XL instead? The reach on the L is shorter than my trail hardtail so I'm not sure.
@@rxckyiskuul6829 personally the large felt fine, but i was coming from the s4 stumpy evo which was a similar size. If you're used to big bikes then maybe you'd want to size up, but then obviously you will lose some of the playfulness of the bike on jumps/corners etc
I'm also thinking about getting this bike, but other than trails... Is it also good for some cool "street" Tricks? Would be the spectral the better option for that? Great video!
I would say for anything 'street' you'd want a bike with less suspension travel problably! Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video 😁
@@willgreenfield Alright thank you! Then I'm probably gonna go with the spectral.
Hey man, i am looking to buy my first full suspension bike and i thought that the capra core 1 is a good option, i wanted to ask you if it was worth the money or if u had any problems with it. Thanks🙏 Keep up with the content its amazing
Hey thanks bro! Didnt have any problems with it, but i only had it for 2-3 months. Great bike for the money (expecially as they've been on salw recently so you can get them even cheaper!) only real things i'd change are the wheels, but you can always upgrade them in the future for something a bit lighter!
What's better the color or the value?? YT killed it with this model hopefully they sell tons! Riding sweet as always!
oof i gotta say the value, colour is cool but a little too bright for me i think... i'd take the black one! Thank you bro :)
he is the speed.
Kachow
Those cornering skills im jelly man :))
Cheers Peter!
What is the weight limit for that frame ?
can you flip from 27 to 29?
Im riding the YT Capra 2020 al Base and i love it. I Bought it new and I changed nothing about it.
oh sick, which colourway is that?
@@willgreenfield its a pretty sick blue (they only had black or blue that time for the capra base. My hardtail ist black so i went for that nice blue on the capra) i cant post a picture in a comment.
How’s the 2020 base uphill ? Looking to buy one use
@@akllls617 I would describe it as ok. It has a good seat position for Riding uphill. But it is not fast uphill. Its definetly a gravity focused bike. It can go uphill, but If you enjoy to ride uphill regulary, i would recommend a trailbike and not the Capra.
@@stuff_from_mitch3418 I don’t enjoy uphill rides but most of my time is spent on trails where I need to ride uphill before descending . So I was wondering how is it peddling in general and how is it going uphill .. from what I gather it’s decent going uphill
got those velcro tires
the best kind
As a first ‘real’ mountain bike, would you recommend paying 500€ more to get the core 2 for the suspension, break + wheel upgrade?
Tricky question! I think it also depends on your personal preference, as the core 2 has fox suspension instead of rockshox... to be honest in this case i'd probably say save yourself £500 and get the core 1, as the db8 brakes are actually quite good... the sunringle wheels are a bit heavy and soft but if they do end up a problem, you can replace them in the future and hopefully for less than €500!
Hope that helps :)
bro there is a sale going on now and you can actually get the core 1 for 2380euros and i am also thinking about the core 2 now that a sale is going on but there is no stock :(
Nice
Thanks!
first 4 mins was extra delicious
Thanks mare!!
You noticed any difference between the code r's and this db8?
yes DB8 is slightly less powerful feeling, but still has enough power for enduro riding. The DB8 also has no 'tool-free reach adjust' which is a bit annoying... have to use an allen key.
Nice riding , but i am still wondering what size should i get for 182 cm height? Do they tend to be bigger ?
size large should be perfect
unless you like a really big bike, then you could go xl.
Nah bro iam 180cm and i buyed capra core 1 L and its kinda small go for XL
@@juraj5960 thanks,it arrived a month ago anyway and its a xl and its definetely a race bike
What camera do you use for the berm clips?
Sony zv-1!
@@willgreenfield thank you
how DB 8 brakes work? Are they good enough? because they have average reviews... I want to buy a Capra but I don't know which model: core 1 vs core 2. Is core 2 worth the $500 extra?
I only used them for 2 months, but they held up great. Feel quite similar to code r. Only annoying thing for me was the lack of tool free reach adjust 😤 and that i think really depends on you, and how much £500 means to you. Personally £500 is a lot of money so i'd choose the core 1 and then upgrade parts as/when i break them or when they wear out.
Hope that helps!
@@willgreenfield Thanks for the reply. Just bought a core 1. The brakes were the only thing that bothered me. I will check them when the bike reaches me and if they are not good enough, as you say, then I will change them. How do you handle the weight of the bike? Can you feel it on the climbs?
@@kevinkozio7841 thats sick, in the UK they're only £1999 on sale right now which is crazy cheap compared to most brands. I would say the weight is noticeable if you're used to lighter bikes (i've had trail bikes before between 13-14kg). But as long as you've got strong legs you'll be fine! I think most of the weight comes from the wheelset actually, so you could upgrade that in a year or two and save a decent amount of weight i reckon!
@willgreenfield I have already received my bike. I am satisfied 😍 The brakes are good and I have no plans to change them for now. The weight is not noticeable and the ride uphill is very pleasant. The only thing I noticed is that the rear shock absorber doesn't have a damping lock which is strange to me. I thought it was standard on trail/enduro bikes. Do you have an idea how to harden the rear shock absorber only for uphills? Applying more air pressure will partially eliminate this problem, but a complete blockage would be a better option 😊
What helmet is that
Does it come with rubber protectors ? Or do you pay extra for them ?
Which rubber protectors are you talking about? This bike is exactly how it would come stock (apart from the cut-down bars)
I mean Chain and support protectors 😊
Im going to order same bike in black and was wondering if i have to add protectors to the cart bud 😆
This Capra or Status 160. What do you think is the better bike?
Hi, i've ridden both, and although the status is more expensive (at RRP), i think i'd take it... However it is very close! For me the wheels and brakes are the only things i dislike about this capra, it still rides very well but if you upgraded them then it would be a status-beater. But for now, if you can find a status for less than the price of this bike (i know there's some sales going on) then i would choose it. But that's just my opinion of course, ideally you should try and demo both bikes before spending the money on either. Hope that helps!
@@willgreenfield Thank you so much. 🤙
2:43 🤌🤌
thanks bro, conditions were so good!
Did look like hero dirt! Sweet shredding!
It seems it does... :-)
Haha cheers! Thanks for watching :)
How is it on incline ??
it's okay! Not bad at all, obviously it's a bit heavier than more expensive bikes, but that'll just make your legs stronger! And they're only £1999 at the moment here which is insane value compared to everything else on the market right now.
is your bike 29inch wheels and large frame?
its the MX/mixed wheel bike, and yes a large frame
@@willgreenfieldHow long are you ?
6ft1
Is IT tubless when you geht IT ?
No it's not sadly
Does it rip the jumps?
Does indeed!
Is IT Tube or Tubeless when you geht IT ?

Big bike for such smooth trails. Probably be more fun on a 140mm bike
nah i've ridden it on a 140mm bike... was more fun on this...
@@willgreenfield Each to their own ✌️
Or 😊n a hardtail
Is this a 29 ?
29 front 27.5 rear!
@0:40 Dry thru axle...like nails on a chalkboard
It did had some grease on it i swear haha!!
you might see yourself on youtube if you send it...
$2700? Buy, keep the parts, sell the Crackra frame 😁
ah have you had a bad experience? i haven't heard of many of these newer capras having issues personally... i know the older ones did
@@willgreenfield yea, I've seen older ones. Hopefully newer frames are sorted. I would still go for aluminium personally.
Most depressing mob video I’ve seen 😂Sorry Will but not into this one
Defo not a mob video bro! Either way sorry to hear you found me depressing... i'll make sure to shout "THIS IS INSAAAAANE!!!" around every corner next time haha
@@willgreenfield you just look pretty unhappy normally your more engaging, don’t get the insane thing but whatever floats your boat
For me i think it's important to be real in these videos, i'm not gonna pretend to be overly happy at times when i'm not... i think it's good for people watching to know that the social media people on the internet also have ups and downs. I didn't particularly enjoy the process of filming the first half of this video, hence why i didn't say much, i was just grafting to get some decent riding clips so anyone interested in the bike could see footage of it being ridden!
Of course i respect everyone finds interest in different types of content, so if it doesn't interest you to watch it then i have no problem with that at all, but just didn't see the need for the negative comment... but each to their own!
