  • Hi Friends..
Welcome back to Journey with Jeevi.
This video covers the cross Country road trip from Kuwait to Bahrain, crossing Saudi Arabia.
In this Eid Hoidays, we planned a long road trip from Kuwait to Bahrain, crossing Saudi Arabia.
In every country border there were many procedures like exit, entry, customs, vehicle insurance etc.
We went for 3 days t/rip and I have covered only Day 1 in this Video.
This is the first time we travelled by road across countries in our Gulf life.
We took Saudi visa1 day prior to our travel. It costs 110 $(only dollars accepted) which is around 34.5 k.d
We got the online visa, immediately after applying.
Imp Note: Kindly carry local currencies for spending inside the visiting countries.
First day(Friday, 21 April) Morning 7.30 a.m we have started from Salmia. On the way we joined our friends family, assembled in Abu Halifa. We all divided into 2 families in each car. Many other friends groups also, travelled to Bahrain on the same day. From there, we started around 8.30 a.m. and proceeded towards Nuwaiseeb port through road No. 30, which is joining Rd No. 40. We reached Kuwait- Saudi border around 9.10 a.m.
On the whole the driving time from Salmiya to border is just 1 hr.
There were many colourful oleander(arali) flowering plants on both sides of the road giving us a pleasant feel.
Imp note: Only own vehicles(with owners) are allowed to enter the borders.
In Kuwait Customs, our Vehicles will be auto scanned and our name & civil ids will be verified and a Custom slip will be given.
This customs slip should be kept carefully as we have to produce it in Saudi Customs.
Next, in Immigration, all our details will be automatically updated, still civil id and passport will be asked for verification.
They will record our country exit in their system itself, not a seal in our passport.
Then we entered Saudi Arabia through Al Khafij port.
Entering into the Saudi Kingdom was really an awesome feel..!
In Saudi, first immigration point was there, then comes the Customs.
In Immigration there was a small queue as it was Eid's 1st day and we were made to wait for 1 hr with token system. Then we completed our finger printing and passport verification.
Then we refreshed a little and started to Customs. In the 1st counter we have to give the Kuwait customs slip and they ll verify and give back Saudi Customs Slip.
Then in next counter, we have to pay Vehicle insurance which is
120 SAR + 15% VAT (which is 18 SAR), so total 138 SAR. This insurance is valid only for a week.
So..successfully finished all the formalities and continued our Journey around 11.30 a.m.. The journey was so beautiful to our surprise as we saw so many lake like waterbodies and white salt stone land surfaces.
In 2 ½ hrs, by 2.00 we reached Damam and stopped for lunch.
Then by 3.30 p.m. we started towards Saudi-Bahrain border.
Actually this Saudi- Bahrain border is in a long bridge, called King Fahd Causeway, which measures 25 kms. It took almost 1hr to reach the Bridge. To enter the bridge, we need to bay 25 SAR as Toll. This bridge drive was the most interesting part of our trip. It was so amazing to travel in the midst of sea. View of merging Sea and Sky was awesome.
And some ½hr distance, Customs counter came.
We parked the car and went to get customs slip, producing vehicle dafthar and Civil id. Then we got the Bahrain Visa in drive thru, only for 2.5 BD.
Then we proceeded to Vehicle insurance counter and again paid only 2.5 BD for Veh. insurance and got the papers.
All the jobs are done successfully and entered into Baharain City.
Then we wazed and googled to our pre booked hotel, Ramee grp of Hotels and Resorts. After refreshing and relaxing a while we explored the hotel amenities and then again we googled for a nice Indian restaurant for early dinner...
It was a great feel that we had our food in 3 different countries in a single day ( breakfast in Kuwait, lunch in Saudi Arabia and dinner in Bahrain.)
So on the whole, it was a lovely day of our trip.
Hope this video and details given are quiet informative and useful to you.
