    Brilliant details. Could I apply the same stringer tread marking for floating treads that will sit on lats rather than routing the stringer? I would like to make a temporary staircase for a house I'm going to build but want it to be as time and cost effective as possible.

    • @DMaker_builds
      @DMaker_builds  Před rokem +2

      Thanks! I’m not sure I understood your question, but if you meant connecting some side boards to the stringers, to hold the treads instead of routing the stringers itself, it’s totally fine! And yes, it might save you some time, but you’ll need more wood. 👍 😉

      @@DMaker_builds thanks for the reply. I think we mean the same thing. As i just require a basic stair case for 6 months on a house build, rather than routing. I was hoping to apply your marking out trick using the square and clamps to mark for the treads, but as you say, just screw on many horizontal pieces of wood to the inside of the stringer to sit the treads down onto.

      @DMaker_builds  Před rokem +2

      @@handle1196 Yes, it's ok to do that, but don't forget that it's a weaker joint so you'll have to use more screws or reinforce it with wood glue.👍

    the only thing I would change in this amazing staircase is the dados, I would stop them on the front visible side instead of going through. nice work.

      Yeah, it's surely subjective, but I think it can still be considered simple, although it could be even simpler 😉

      I'm not sure I understood your question (I used google translate). The angle of the staircase is around 40º with the floor. I hope it helped 😉👍

      Could also be done by laminating each side rail so no router would be needed cut all the notches on one piece then glue it to another
