  • Papdis are round flaky, crispy, deep fried crackers used in most of the Indian chaats .
With this recipe you can avoid buying papdis/tikkis from the market as making them at home is not at all hard and just requires the basic technique.
    Prep time :-45 mins
    Cooking time :-15 mins
    Makes :- 40-50 Papdis
Cup measurements:- ½ cup =125 ml
    INGREDIENTS:-
    1) Semolina (Medium)- ½ cup
    2) All purpose flour- ½ cup
    3) Salt- as required
    4) Carom seeds/Ajwain- ½ tsp
    5) Oil- 1 tbsp
    6) Water-around 40-45ml
    TIPS :-
    1. Make sure the dough is stiff and not soggy.
    2. Donot add all the water at the same time, but add it little by little.
    3. Donot forget to prick the papdi dough with a fork to prevent it from puffing up.
    4. Use any kind of round object, glass or a cap to cut the papdis in case you donot have a cookie cutter.
    5. Fry the papdis on low- medium flame and donot fry them in very hot oil.
    6. You can even bake them in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for about 15-20 mins.
    7. If you feel the dough is sticky and you are unable to assemble it,then you can always add some all purpose flour until you get a stiff dough.
