Thank you. And thanks for watching. Let us know if there is anything else you need! www.midnebraskamotorsports.com/
You definitely need a case splitter. Works like a flywheel puller. No flat screwdrivers to scratch the case mating surfaces.

Awesome. I love to read a comment like this. It inspires me to keep on making these videos! Thanks for watching and the comment. Hit that subscribe button, if you will. www.ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports
Hey how does the linkage work? When u pull off the shifter linkage there are two pieces that come off. How do you put them back on
NO! Impact drivers of any kind. Especially on the clutch basket spring mounts. The hammer style impact is fine if the structure is robust.
Mark, no baskets were harmed in the making of this video. You've got a good point tho. I appreciate you watching and the comment.
I knew you'd go back to that hammer before you finished this video! Why not use a case puller?
the cases are delicate this aint an iron block so suggesting a case splitter makes sense.
What size is that nut on the end of the crankshaft? None of my sockets fit. I tried a 24mm and a 27mm. I'm rebuilding a 1974 dt360. Great video.
Nevermind my 1" socket worked just fine. Now to figure out how to get out the seized piston and that 1/8" turn on the Kickstarter isn't happening. More fun.
Hey bud. Thanks for your work here. I have a 74 dt250. I lost compression, I think the oil injection failed. Haven't pulled the head yet. What's your opinion on rebuild attempt? Also if you have a recommendation for part source. Thanks.
ebay for parts. dont throw away any copper gaskets. if you cant find them make them/ have them made....you cant kill these bikes.
Guy didn’t even hose it off before he started
SPEAK UP!!!!!!!!
Did you ever sell all of those transmission parts? & guts? Why not sell it whole! I kinda guessed that your parting it when tell the guy ebay lol you will still have all those parts 20 years from now. If you're anything like junkyardboy you'll have them 100 years from now because he only sells junk.
Parts are selling all day everyday. Might be 20 years, it might be 20 minutes. Let me know if you need anything. Thanks for watching.
hi,
my dt 250 mx has an air leak on the seal ring on the crankshaft behind the flywheel and burns transmission oil
do i have to split the whole engine to replace the seal ring on the clutch side?
and is it enough to replace the seal rings on the crankshaft only?
I’m confused, where you’re hitting this area with a screwdriver is there not a gasket surface you’re smacking into ? And smacking the crankcase with a metal hammer ? Gotta respect aluminium man..
Central Powersports haha we’ve all been there man, I remember when I used to ride bmx when I was a teenager. At one point the bmx industry went through a phase of using threaded bottom bracket cups for the crank axle. Turns out my frame threads were damaged and I couldn’t thread one of the cups in, didn’t even realise at the time it was possible to rethread something...so I took a lump hammer to it and hammered it into the frame, butchery haha
