  • This video shows how to check and change the F7 and G4 filters on a Zehnder Q350, Q450 and Q600 MVHR system.
Explaining how the filters work and how to ensure they're clean and clear is part of our MVHR commissioning and handover service to our design clients at the end of the build project. By ensuring the MVHR filters are regularly checked and controlled we can prolong the lifetime of the filters, save energy and create a pleasant and comfortable indoor environment all year round.

You can pick the version left/right during installation process. So You may need to put Your liters other way and it's ok, as long F7 is filtering air from the outside.

thanks for video, is it normal that the left/G4 filter from upper side it's full of bugs/dust when comparing with the right side F7?

Yes because one side is collecting debris from the outside and that is the filter unless it was chosen to have an additional filter before the supply air gets to the unit (like HEPA or higher MERV rated ones), while the other side is filtering the core/ & for the supply air into the home. So as he pointed out, one side is much more exposed to things than another side hence the difference when comparing.

@@Sarah-hb2rc Thanks for your reply, Sarah - absolutely correct. The filter bringing in outdoor air will trap insects, pollen, seeds, carbon dust and other outdoor pollutants.
However, @LuckyPunk13, it sounds like you have the G4 and F7 filters the wrong way round. The F7 should be the outdoor (bugs) one. It may be worth contacting us directly through our website because it could mean the hand of your MVHR unit needs changing.

    Can the filters be cleaned?

Yes, they can be vacuumed to remove insects, pollen, etc to prolong their life, but once the filters are saturated with carbon dust they need to be replaced. We at Heat, Space and Light can supply official replacements - please contact us through our website and we'll be happy to help.
