Only problem is it does this day and night still trying to figure out how to have it only a night time not in the day as well .. lol

    Thanks for the educational bids.
Recently bought the colorvu and very happy with them.
We curenrtly are using them for watching POS cash in a Nightclub dark environment and it allows for a very clear color image of the denominations. Very helpful and far better than anything we used in the past, even without the supplimental led white light. Considering placing outdoor for the parking area, I'm curious what the estimated lifespan is of the LED lights though. 2000hrs at 100%? And could these be replaced if they fail, or would it require replacing the entire cam?

    Hi there,
I recently had a Turing advantage series NVR and cameras installed in my house by a local company and after using for a little bit realized the app was terrible and you can’t even share clips and playback clips skip every two seconds, needless to say they are coming to remove the Turing system and want to put in a hikvision system.
Below are the Cameron model numbers and NVR model number they want to swap it out with and say it would be $100 less.
The NVR model number is ERI-K108-P8
The Camera model number is ECI-T24Fx
Can you take a look and see if you think these cameras are any good? They seem to be older models; is this really $100 less or should it be a lot less than what I had? I originally paid about $2500 to remove my old system and install this one including running all new wires.
I inquired about the colorvu cameras (although I believe you are not a big fan) because I have some low light areas on the sides of my house and in front of my house that produce a black-and-white picture but I believe with ColorVu they would be in color due to the lighting from neighbors and such. When I asked about that they said those were $100 more per camera and the model number they provided was generation one DS-2CD2347G1-L(U). I went back to them and asked if they had the generation 2 model ColorVu cameras. I also asked them if they were able to get the eight megapixel color view for the front of my house only.
I guess my question is to you is:
    1. what do you think about the model numbers that they are trying to sell me and do I need to push for the newest version? I’m not sure why they’re trying to push this older stuff off on me unless they have it sitting around.
    2. Is the camera kit they are offering = to the Touring Advantage Series set I had? they were also 4 MP cameras
Thanks for any advice you can provide.
    Lost in Florida,
    Angela

Hi and thanks for the comment , and sorry to hear you have had issues with the system you are removing, so I have looked at the cameras models you mentioned and these are the Value series , which we don’t offer in the UK but some regions offer them and do very well , there 4MP so the image should be ok , but as there a value camera the low light capability wont be as good as the traditional model but this will then cost more. As far as the ColorVu I am its biggest fan to be honest and if possible I would try to use this at all times 😊. The model they have given you Is a ColorVu model and will peform well , in the UK ( and I don’t know the US market enough to be 100% confident ) we have moved over to the latest model of colorvu which is DS-2CD2347G2-LU-2.8MM so I would check if that is an option as it’s the latest and best in my opinion , past that happy to help where we can , and I hope your new system will be all that it needs to be 😊

The cameras we have fitted are the HiLook Hikvision THC-T259H 2.8mm ColorVu 5MP TVI Mini Turret Camera IR 20 white.
Could this be because they are fitted so high?
One other thing is the hikvision digital recorder box is beyond difficult to use. Trying to find a certain time is difficult, as in swiping across to a certain time, it jumps.
Any advice and help would be grateful. Thank you.

From 0.5x zoom it's blurry and at 8x zoom it's undeliverable bad. We got them fitted because there were a few houses burgled and we wanted to get a clear image of anyone who would think of doing the same to us. Luckily it's not happened. Awesome video and I have been learning a lot form your content. I would to ask for your recommendation in the best/most preferred Hkvision 24 NVR that works with colorVue. And advice if the cameras should be powered by the NVR, or its best to get a non-poe NVR and power the cameras through a POE switch. Thanks

Hi and thanks for this feedback , myself its ok to use the NVR with POE inbuilt and makes it an easy install , you can also use external POE switch , both will work the same , it really is down to how you want to wire and configure this , do you want a 24hr unit as all NVRS are rated to 24hr , or 24 port POE ? if its 24 port poe please use the DS-7732NI-I4/24P 😊
