    Thank you for posting this! I'm pretty handy however there are nuances like the order to remove/replace the terminals and the warning lights that I couldn't know without your video. It took little time to replace, and yes, I would've panicked with all the lights when I started the engine. A trip around the block and it's all back to normal! Thanks so much for your help!

    Great review, I usually apply a small amount of silicone grease on the terminals to minimize corrosion. Dealer wants $239 for this job, decided to do it myself, tks again.

    For the 2018 hybrid accord, the 12v battery is group 51 (not 57 or 51R) and it’s not the same as the regular Accord. Double check the battery size first before proceed with the steps. Great video BTW. Another thing I would add is put something plastic like terminal cover over the terminals as soon as connection wire is off to avoid accidental discharge

    Honda Dealership changed my 2016 Honda Accord V6 battery now I have 3 Problems.
    01.No Adaptive Cruise Control
    02.No Collision Mitigation System,
    03.No Road Departure Mitigation System
    It's Already been a week and hasn't self reset

    • @str8oil
      @str8oil  Před rokem

      If those lights have not reset themselves by simply driving the car (going +30mph), then you are going to have to take it back to the dealership and have them reset the lights (they will have to connect it to their computer)…they should have done that before delivering the vehicle to you, im sorry you had that experience.

      sounds like they installed a non AGM battery and gave you a standard. AGM will cover those systems which standard does not have the power to. Check out AGM vs non AGM car batteries

    After changing the car remote, I get "keyless remove not detected." I can start the car by putting the remote right up to the start button, but the locks aren't working and the warning light is still there. Ideas? I ONCE got the lock/unlock to work by inserting the manual key and turning it back and forth, but the next day that didn't work.

    • @str8oil
      @str8oil  Před 7 měsíci

      It is possible the battery inside the key fob is defective. I would try changing the key fob battery. We’re you having the same issue before changing the car remote?

  • @karxixna
    @karxixna Před 7 měsíci +1

    My car wouldn’t start because it said “electric brake failure” (I have a 2020 Honda accord) so I googled it and it said it could be the battery. I’m hoping that’s what it is since it has been 4 years since I got the car and the battery hasn’t been changed. I hope this video helps me!

    • @str8oil
      @str8oil  Před 11 měsíci

      If it doesn’t start after you install your new battery, make sure all your connections are correct and tight on the battery terminals…if they are and it still doesn’t start, there must be some other issue…possible the alternator or the starter

    Any ideas?

    • @str8oil

      Try holding that power button while the car is running. If that doesn’t work, take the car for a drive…try and get up to at least 30mph, and then try pressing and holding the power button again. Are there any other unusual lights on your dashboard after replacing the battery?

    I have a Honda accord 2020 sport 2.0T. My dad changed the battery to a authentic Honda battery meant for my car. And it said everything mentioned in your video when trying to turn on. But it won’t start up at all. The anti theft light is still flashing. Would that be a malfunction with the car itself and nothing to do with the battery replacement? We tried a lot of things to try and make it go away or to try and recognize the key fob and nothing. If you can give me some advice that would be highly appreciated!

  • @alexgregorio5425

    i replaced my battery but i now have no power whatsoever. could it be my alternator?

    • @str8oil
      @str8oil  Před 7 měsíci

      If you’re 100% sure the battery was installed correctly, I would:
      1. Make sure the key fob battery is not completely dead (hold your key directly up to the push to start button when starting, touching them together)
      2. If that doesn’t make a difference, it’s most likely an issue with either the alternator or starter. I would start with inspecting the alternator and if there’s no issue there, then move on to the starter

    I have a 22 honda accord I bought brand new in January. I got under glow installed a few months ago. Battery has died 2x in a 3 week span. Could it be bad battery or under glow?

    • @str8oil
      @str8oil  Před 11 měsíci

      Did you replace the battery once and the new one went bad right away? The under glow most likely has put an extra strain on the battery, but shouldn’t cause a brand new battery to die within a 3 week period. If you haven’t replaced the battery, I would say try getting a new battery I installed because that is most likely your issue. If you HAVE already replaced the battery and it died again, I would say there must be some issue with that under glow and I would think about having it uninstalled or at least checked out. Another thing to consider is that you purchased a 22 accord in January (I’m assuming you meant January of 2023), which means that accord may have been sitting on the lot for almost a year, and the battery may have been on the weaker side from the start.
