As the world continues to evolve, the automotive industry is in for the biggest change since … the car was created, the masses have had a taste of electric/hybrid vehicles and the people in charge controlling the future are soon going to make us all jump on the band wagon
The question is, why is Audi; one of the biggest car manufacturers on the planet continuing to throw the rulebook out the window and continuing to use big diesel lumps in their executive saloon vehicle?
The answer is … because they are bloody superb; crisp power delivery with bags of character (known as torque) and of course great fuel economy allowing over 500 miles if you’re careful enough!
More so, why do Audi and other manufacturers still use Diesel engines or Internal combustion engines in general? Simple conclusion is we aren’t ready, most countries lack the electric infrastructure to support electric vehicles and doubt they ever will
Dinosaurs like me still think Electric vehicles is not the way forward, for the foreseeable time being I’ll stick with cars like the S5 for sure!

I watched your video like 5 times while waiting for the delivery of my (barely) used 2021 S5. Finally got it this week! Black with black optics package - looks really nice and drives fantastically! Thanks for all the help and explanations, it's a great video and I appreciate the natural conversation and humor instead of hundreds of cuts like most Yoututbers.

Nice review. I talked myself out of the RS5 to go for the S5 instead last week. Couldn't justify the extra £15-20k to go a little faster and sound a little better. One child and a second on the way made it difficult to justify the need for the RS5 to the wife. I was also a bit worried about the diesel engine taking the fun away but judging by what you've said, there's still a lot of fun to be had driving this.

I am looking at changing my a5 coupe to the following cars a 2023 Audi s5 vorsprung coupe or go with my first BMW a M240i with all the options which one would you go for
Well I now have a M140i, so I'd probably edge more towards a M240i, a lot of car for the money along with a great platform for tuning and modifying with aftermarket parts

Swap your 335d springs for ACS or Eibach and it will handle like the S5. Also remove the bloody run flats and get some MPS4S's on it!
Yeah springs are highly recommended by everyone I speak to! We already run the car without run flats, I opted to not have them 👍🏼 Thanks for watching
What are the massage seats like on it? Not expecting them to be unbelievable but cool little extra feature

I wanted to get Kia Stinger, but after watching your review it's going to be difficult decision between Stinger and S5. I always owned diesel cars and I love the new S5. Very nice review!
I've been intrigued by the Stinger, I've only heard good things about them - unfortunately I never got the opportunity to test one
The S5 diesel is a dream, that alone sells the car although I do prefer the BMW 6 cylinder diesel platform but that's more preference than anything else

I wish they made the S5 2020 europe version petrol as it is in Murica'. Don't know why they chose a performance car to be a diesel. On top of the premium price for paying for a performance car you get the 'climate diesel tax' here in The Netherlands. You basically are paying for a RS5 but it's a diesel S5. Also the launch control is silly and bad now, the rev limiter and the sound without any burps or crackles. It totally doesn't feel and sound like a performance car; the only thing you can tell it is, is that the speed is pretty quick. But take an A5 quattro with 255 HP petrol and you got the same effect. What a pity Audi... You made me consider the 2019 version instead...
The S5 is around £15-20k cheaper than an RS5 making a more attainable vehicle for the masses where it still provides good performance and miles better economy values. As I mentioned in the review, I find it better you get a different engine in the S variant to the RS as it widens the target market instead of getting a smaller or detuned engine
A S5 will run rings around a A5 diesel, they are in completely different leagues with/without a map
I drive a mixture of petrol & diesel powered cars and as much as I love exhaust sounds and noises; nothing comes close to a smooth 3 litre 6 cylinder turbo diesel

Very surprised the S5 (diesel) isn't available in the States, I'd imagine due to lower fuel prices; it makes more sense running petrol cars compared to us in the UK! Thanks for watching and commenting Claude, all the best
Have you already replaced your 335d? I'm in the same boat
I did indeed, mainly due to market being strong during "WokeDown" plus my PCP was up and was forced with mileage charges so managed to escape with positive equity too but then went mad and bought a M140i instead over a year ago now 🤣👍🏼
In hindsight, I prefer the 335d just a better all rounder apart from the missing sound/charcater I get from the 140
I'd personally still have a 335d over the Audi, more so the G80 340d (if budget allows) for you

Good review, keep up the good work. However, I would suggest you breakup your footage as the first 8 & 1/2 minutes you had lots of diffirent shots, talking about diffirent things. This makes ir easier to scrub back over footage when watching if there was a particualr thing you wanted to see again. 18 minutes of then talking to the camera from the same camera position eventually comes across quite dull and was difficult to keep focused on what you were saying. Maybe construct your review into segments so it doesn't feel like you're rambleing on. I think you talked about exhaust note 3 or 4 times. Like the camera work too (for the first part). Keep at it, refine your style to make you stand out.

Took delivery of my S5 Coupe back in July this year.
Certainly does this job for me, and it would seem for many others too as it definitely turns heads, but not 'in your face' kinda way. Just unbelievable how many people of all ages give nice comments, even when stopped at traffic lights.
I'm a CCO for a global tyre manufacturer, and s you can imagine, I've driven and tested many sports cars. When the opportunity arose to choose a reasonably priced, comfortable, extremely well built and fast sports car, I went for the S5. Perfect car in so many ways!

Sorry, I drive one and I would not call it an S model. No emotions and the diesel sound remind me of any other diesel car, and I just don’t like the diesel sound. S5 diesel is only for Europe, outside the Europe you can buy with petrol engine 👍
Fair enough, that's your view! A diesel no matter characteristics, it won't be as smooth as an equivalent petrol engine plus Audi did do a petrol version of the S5 in Europe (especially in the UK)

The reason I think Audi did this was to separate it away from the RS5 a bit more, the S5 now offers better economy as well as performance to match but the RS5 provides even more power in comparison so it has created a broader market for consumer to choose from
