Usually when I hear someone play it on a bass, it’s played an octave lower. Now I can finally prove my friend that he can play it in the original range lol.

First, again beautiful playing. But, it's also nice to hear something that highlights what makes the bass special, the bass notes.Those lower tones. That's what I meant.
because double bass is cooler than cello
If the double bass has the upper register, then why not to explore it? Then, according to your statement, violins shouldn't play from the middle to the lower positions, because the register in the violin is high? Or should pianos only have from A3 to A6?
Because bass is cooler then cello and basses make everything sound better haha
