- If any Soap character deserves legendary status, it is surely Bet Lynch.
The Coronation Street barmaid was a hit with audiences from her first appearance in the 60's right to her recent comebacks.
Bet was glamorous and sassy and she had a glint in her eye and a sharp word for anyone who dared to take her on.
Bet's on-onscreen shenanigans were matched by her off screen lifestyle, and for years Julie Goodyear, the actress who brought Bet to life, was front page news.
Well, now Julie is back. In this interview she talks about what it takes to be a great soap character, her fondest memories on Corrie, the stir caused by Bet's marriage to Alec Gilroy, and also a new "super soap" she is appearing in featuring a star from the street's great rival, Eastenders. - Zábava
I loved the character of Bet Lynch.
I once met Roy Barraclough and he admitted Coronation Street wasn’t the same after Julie Goodyear left.
How right Roy was
Juice looked so happy & pleasant here. True professional that you have to admire
Proper down to earth Manc Lass.
The golden years of corrie finished for me when Bet left, its when I stopped watching.
Bet Lynch: what a great character, the best, the very best. ☺
yes same for me when pat died in eastenders
Me to I stopped watching when Bet left... they were definitely the golden years 😊
So sad that she is so unwell now. She was an icon. I just hope she can still know how much she was loved xxxxxx
Would be great if they bought Julie back for one last storyline
LOVELY interview ! FABULOUS ! Thank you for posting
It's lovely to hear Julie speak so highly of all her colleagues. Bet was the best soap character ever.
One & only my fave character ❤️
This was probably filmed in the replica of The Rovers interior which was used as a waiting area for studio audiences. When the Granada Studios Tour was open, it was actually used as working pub where you could buy a pint.
Love The Bones And Realness And Glamour Of This Lady X😀X
they pour alot of themselves into the well loved characters!
Julie Goodyear was brilliant as Bet Lynch!
Great Lady.
Julie is a legend...a national treasure❤
Julie Goodyear ❤
To all the actors and actresses learn from the Tiger Julie Goodyear she is the best to have as your best friend, you will learn so much and feel comfortable because she's honest open and such a fun lovable lady
I would love to be in their shoes to have the opportunity to actually meet JULIE GOODYEAR THE LOVELY LEGEND!!!!!!
XX😊🌹💐
Bring Bet back with Raquel, I hope Bet is living with Raquel somewhere.
20 from the back, when she turned round ewww! Julie Goodyear had a great sense of humour.
In the great tradition of giant personality, hearty, gay icon northern Women.
Amazing and NOT fake
Sadly, Julie has declared she will never return to the soap again.
Lovely lady 💓
Great video keep up the good work

Must have been fun been a bride again? Yeah my Husband ran off with the best man at the reception 😂
I don,t know why the public expect these people on screen will be some how different to ordinary people, there not !, there actors not gods ! .
I think she has dementia now
She has, sadly.
I'm a fan of Julie/Bet, so I don't mean this in a negative way, but she's a sort of female equivalent of Jimmy Savile. Oddly enough the similarity is most apparent with short, straight hair, as in this interview.
I bet you regret saying that now
I noticed the comments were made a long time before jimmithy was turned over
Thats a horrendous thing to say
Are you being serious FFS?! Don't you call our Bet/Julie a perv! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
@@dominewimbury2039- in fairness, the comment was made long before the Saville revelations happened. I'm sure no disrespect was meant.
They are just actors who are very well paid for doing a job.
They also earn more money from public appearences etc.
Make no mistake it's highly unlikely they'll do an interview unless they are paid or promoting something
She aged horribly
Nasty woman !
she played a typical lancashire lass...brilliant actress
