Add a small (like a drop) amount of blue or green to your blood mix to take it over the top. You'll be amazed how much it adds.
For me, the addition of the hair really pushed it into the gross zone, awesome idea, and a great job as usual

How about using a soldering iron to burn the circle in then dry brush it. It is actually based on a Louisville Slugger bat and their logo is branded on to the bat.
