  • A man allegedly murdered his wife and made it look like a suicide. Matheau Moore, 51, stands trial in Delaware County, Ohio.
Wife Emily Noble, 52, was last seen on her birthday: May 24, 2020. She was reported missing the next day. Her body turned up in tragic and grisly fashion the following Sept. 16. She was found hanging from a tree in a wooded area near her home. There was reportedly a 20-inch USB cord around her neck. There were multiple injuries to her head and neck. Authorities determined that this was homicide.
Noble was so badly decomposed authorities had to use dental records to identify her.
Prosecutors argue Moore killed her and staged the hanging. He faces charges of murder and felonious assault.
Moore’s previous wife Lisa Pedersen told WBNS in a June 2021 report that he once choked her when she was pregnant with their first son. It was New Year’s Day 2001, she said. They had been married three months.
“He came over, and he did, for some reason, he ended up, yeah, putting his hands around my neck,” she reportedly said. “And he started to choke me.”
It was the only time he put a hand on her, and they kept in touch throughout the years, Pedersen said. Though they maintained contact, she noted that he, contrary to contemporaneous media reports, claimed to be participating in the search for Noble.
“Once the details were made clear to me, I started to lean toward his guilt,” she said.
Both of their sons are now dead, according to WBNS. One of the children reportedly died at 17 by hanging in a park the summer before Noble’s disappearance.

This defense attorney is excellent. Some people don’t like her because she is not warm and fuzzy, but that is not her job. She is there to vigorously defend her client, and she has gone above and beyond for him.
There is a lot of reasonable doubt in this case, and unless the prosecution can pull a rabbit out of a hat very soon, I don’t see how any juror could convict on this evidence. The defendant may not be likable, and some of us may have a ‘hunch’ or ‘gut feeling’ that he is guilty, but this is criminal court. We don’t rely on hunches and speculation here.

The stress on it as it aged would have broken .. it seems to me. But of course, I know nothing about it. It just seems to be that type of break according to the previous picture examples. I haven't seen any evidence YET as you said that he did it .. but maybe we will. He is an odd duck .. but .. nothing is shown that he actually did this. He was already having trauma from sons' death, so he didn't go looking for her. That is the ONLY thing that is strange. But I think he knew her well enough .. and he was traumatized .. he just couldn't bring himself to look because he knew she wouldn't just vanish. That part is strange to me. Though there has been grave injustice after grave injustice in his case, both Michael Keetley's attorney through his first trial (now a judge) and his retrial legal legal team were absolutely fantastic. There's nothing like watching an attorney who's righteously indignant. The husband/wife team who took up Ryan Duke's representation in Georgia -- including arguing their way to the GA Supreme Court on an interlocutory appeal -- were incredible, as well.
I so wish people could go watch the Zimmerman trial and just pretend as though they'd never heard a thing the news told them about the case. It's unbelievable how different even the basic facts are than almost everyone believed, and his lawyers' tenacity in the face of bitter pushback was a sight to behold -- especially sparing with a judge who wouldn't admit text messages from a passcode-protected cell phone because ~technically~ there's no way to be certain the person who owned & used the phone, as well as knew the passcode, was the one who wrote each specific message, regardless of the message content identifying the sender (and wouldn't even allow the defense to call the recipients of the messages to confirm _at least_ who _they_ believed they were conversing with in the messages). She acted like the admission of text messages attributed to someone who isn't testifying could _never_ be allowed (even though they already routinely were).
*^ Whether you agreed with the jury on than one or not, you **_have_** to go watch the testimony of Dr. Shiping Bao.* It is the most _bonkers_ testimony I have ever seen, out of decades of trials. (I'm not even talking about his conclusions, or anything like that. He testifies directly off of notes that he then gets angry about the defense wanting to see them, he answers technical questions with random anecdotes that happened to his colleagues... it's _so_ strange; you have to see it for yourself.)

Because as a sister she should have known and now feels guilty about not being there for her sister after stepson died? There are so many things that could be going on but I definitely don’t feel like it is undoubtedly him who did this. He’s a master at not leaving one iota of evidence anywhere. Why was there NO mention today of the fact that the USB cable was in a position where the bulky part of one end was caught between the two loops of the cable? The prosecution emphasized this fact two or three times on Monday - so much so that the defense objected with “asked and answered”
Where did the point go? Why did it matter so much? Was the thread lost? Maybe I need to rewatch that whole part but it seems strange it was essentially forgotten today.
Wouldn’t the USB being found in such a way mean that the cable was probably not in that position at the time death? The prosecutor and witness (Holcomb, BCI guy) went back and forth that it was only being held to the tree by that and it was taut when found

I understand he's an expert witness for the State. Also, @the little pod person , osteopenia is not the same as osteoporosis, the former doesn't have clinically observed symptoms but could be picked up from a special scan. There could also be a variety of factors for osteopenia as Menashe pointed out, like diet and genetics, but also, a female who has menopause could very well have that since there's a lack of estrogen in the body (could be early in her case). Whatever, we don't really know her medical hx. ALL of these however, does not make Smock a crime scene analysis expert.
