Looks like the cow opening, think you're supposed to push the flank pawn like h4, h5 to punish their placement of the knight but havent watched the whole video yet so let's see how you handle it hahha
Ahhh yeah you’re probably right. I so rarely see the cow that I forget what it looks like. Pushing h4, h5 to punish the knight placement makes a lot of sense. I was close to playing it in the game.
You are right but the resulting trades and liquidation down to a rook endgame isn’t that much better for black and they also have to be weary of their back rank and pawns being captured. They have to play very accurately so as to not allow my d pawn to promote.
So two things. 9:11, I think you call that compensation? A lot of the time taking a point of material takes time and the person down a pawn will often have a slight positional advantage, that's why gambits are a thing. And secondly, can you please start talking in notation sometimes instead of just saying "here"? It's slightly annoying for me and I have a friend who's basically blind and can't really enjoy videos like this. So instead of saying "this seems like a good square for my knight, let's start this reroute now" maybe you could say "d5 seems like a good square for my knight, I can get it there by going e2 c3, let's do that". Not a big deal just something to keep in mind y'know.
Nice thumbnail dude!
I try

I think your nd5 was a mistake… black could play bxd5 pxd5 re2 with a winning attack
