Oooo. This is a dangerous song. So many Bond movie references. Subtly powerful and engrossing.

If Timothy Dalton had stayed in all the Pierce Brosnan movies, then this would have been his farewell movie instead of Licence to Kill

And it would have likely been *excellent*

Actually had the licensing issues not happened, he would’ve been in “Property of A Lady” following Licence to Kill, and then his tenure would’ve wrapped up with “Reunion with Death”, im pretty sure according to one of the bond books recounting scrapped adventures. So Brosnan still would’ve done his stuff

This is excellent! IIRC, the early drafts of the film, under the working title "Beyond the Ice" were this exact slick darkness but throughout the film.

Word of warning, some free advice
She’s a femme fatale and she’s colder than ice
Her temper’s wicked, her legs are oh so long
She’ll take you then forsake you
Take your life for a song
You’re willing to pay the price
Most live once you only live twice
Licensed to thrill, still your only vice
Involves killing, so roll the dice
Beyond the ice, beyond the ice
The world is warming, it’s a dangerous place
With dangerous people at dangerous pace
The fight this time is coming from the inside
The whole worlds fate you decide
Beyond the ice, beyond the ice
You’re willing to pay the price
Most live once you only live twice
Licensed to thrill, still your only vice
Involves killing, so roll the dice
Beyond the ice, beyond the ice

I remember the days when Beyond The Ice was going to be the title. I knew Die Another Day would be crap the day I learned John Cleese was going to be Q. As much as I like Cleese in Fawlty Towers, Monty Python and even as R in the previous film, he was completely miscast as Q. Desmond Llewelyn's portrayal was something you could take seriously but still get a laugh out of. Cleese's portayal was just John Cleese being John Cleese.

Thank you very much for uploading this song, i've heard the legend about Red Flag's theme for Die another day that was already a done deal and suddenly and magically Maddonna got it. I agree this song has much more the bond vibe and it would be great to have it there. Also I have to add that i'm one of the few persons that loved this film and for me it was the last and farewell of the real Bond. Dont take me wrong, I think Mr Craig is a great actor, but he wasn't a Bond for me.

Is feel a like a serious Tone to it and the rise of bond to go rouge after that tourture.

This theme would have been excellent at pleasing the older fandom. In a 2006 MORI poll for the Channel 4 programme "James Bond's Greatest Hits", Madonna's song was voted 9th out of 22, and also came in as an "overwhelming number one" favourite among those under the age of 24. The only complaints I've heard of Madonna's theme was from those who grew up in the Connery/Moore-era. Beyond the Ice sounds contemporary, yet without the polarizing pop-feel Madonna offered.

In 2006 Madonna was still relevant, so, of course, the mindless sheeple would think it was great regardless. Most fans relegate this song into the same category as "Quantum of Solace" and "The Man with the Golden Gun". Personally I don't think her song is bad, but this song by Red Flag is definitely better, at least for the movie anyway.

@@varanid9tbh the Madonna version's instrumental is more fitting to the opening title sequence. Lyrics are the bad part of the song. This song is better overall though.

pretty much the only reason I uploaded it, other versions either have sound effects involved or are just very low quality.

I hadn't heard this before. However - think I prefer Madnna's final product despite its other issues

It took me awhile to get with this version but I still prefer it to Madonnas due to the lyrics being a lot better and for me at least Madonna's not feeling Bondian enough.

Not too bad of a tune!....but I can understand why this song was rejected. Madonna's Die Another Day is much better. If anything, I have her song on my tunes to listen to.
