  • This is the interview that usually starts off our annual trip to Tucson - and with a dealer like this being first, it's ALWAYS a tough act to follow!!!
The Fine Minerals International House is right on Granada Ave as it passes South from St. Mary's. On the edge of the El Presidio part of Tucson, this house is truly a treasure trove.
Daniel Trinchillo and his team have worked hard over the years to become the top mineral dealer in the world. Bringing to market some of the finest mineral specimens ever seen, Fine Minerals International simply does not disappoint.
Join us as Daniel takes us on a personal and exclusive tour of the Fine Minerals International House and then shares with us MANY of the hidden treasures that are tucked away in his vault.

Wheras I thouroughly enjoy your show, I think for further productions you could consider recording closer looks of cabinets, where one could read the labels and admire the pices as the camera slowly moves across the case

I love "Fine Minerals International" & Daniel is so interesting. At times the lighting cases had too much glare, so I suggest next time you work out the lighting with Daniel, so we can better see all of those amazing specimens. Another great show!

Even in Peter's more taciturn appearances I am still learning very much. I had no idea that Cr was the chromophore responsible for wulfenite's orange. Sure enough, looking up images of pure synthetic crystals of lead molybdate, they're glass clear colorless...

Pre lead paint ban - moly orange was the best pigment for use in paint. At the paint factory I was a chemist and color matcher for, we mad the most beautiful Bright Orange. Incredible hiding power and really the only "clear orange" available until organic pigments were developed. So wulfenite is moly orange, crocoitie is chrome yellow. Kind of always seemed backwards to me :) I collect mainly minerals that are or have been used in paint.

Dave Wilbur was so much better as the host than this guy and his daughter are.
