This is how they're made in the UK, but the frame would be of a better quality. Proper Chesterfield is covered in leather, with brass pins but we have velvet ones too.

The method is ok but wondering inside layout material used was so cheap and build quality is not strong. But still hand made sofa is expensive why ?
I used to do this kind of work and still to this day I have a trained eye for spotting buckles and pullings on the fabric the quality is not there but yet I give them credit for putting it together in this video

Yes, I was thinking this too. They should have made three cushions, in the sitting area, with piped edges and the arm rests could've been better but, they did a good job with what they had available to them. I'm sure if they were given the materials we have, that sofa would have been made very well.

India receives clothes from all over the globe, clothes that department stores cannot sell, sadly most of it ends up in the garbage dump or left to rot in mounds! (They are considered the middle men or end of the line…I watched a documentary of clothes) Every piece of clothing can be used to make some of the finest furniture….if I could, I would LOVE to buy some of these hand made items (I watched a group of elderly men and afew young gentlemen make a beautiful wooden bowl, I wouldn’t care the cost as it would be worth it just to have one, as long as I know my money would go to the 3 gentlemen that made it.
