Natural Honey & Annatto Cold Process Soap

Recipe:
🐝 156g (5.51oz) distilled water: 141g (4.97oz) pure distilled water and 15g (0.52oz) distilled water + 1 teaspoon of
annatto seed powder
🐝 10g (0.35oz) citric acid (optional). Citric acid will react with lye and neutralise some of it, so use additional 6g (0.21oz) of
lye per 10g (0.35oz) citric acid
🐝 84g (2.96oz) lye (NaOH) if not using citric acid or 90g (3.17oz) lye (NaOH) if using citric acid
🐝 18g (0.63oz) beeswax
🐝 30g (1.06oz) almond oil, sweet
🐝 210g (7.41oz) coconut oil, 76 deg
🐝 252g (8.89oz) olive oil
🐝 90g (3.17oz) shea butter
🐝 18g (0.63oz) essential or fragrant oil

Annatto is high in vitamin E, and honey has moisturizing properties and produces exceptional lather. This gentle soap is ideal for both face and body and acts as a mild exfoliant.

Thank you for your comment. Annatto powder doesn’t dissolve completely and acts as a mild exfoliant and removes dead cells.

What color does the Annatto soap age too?

It will become and will stay dark yellow or even reddish yellow . For lighter colour use 1/4 or 1/8 teaspoon of Annatto powder. I think for smoother colour it’s better to use infused Annatto oil, but I wanted to make this rustic look :)
