- This is the first of 3 videos which portray a mock acute headache patient encounter. The portrayed clinical encounter is to be used by students to assist building their skill in patient encounter documentation. Individual patient presentations vary, so this video is NOT meant to portray clinical management that is appropriate to the care of all patients with headache; it is a fictional scenario that has been based upon real patient encounters. I thought the doctor did a very professional job. I'd assume he's a real doctor because he seemed far too experienced to be medical student. He didn't want to scare the patient but he quickly narrowed down the proper diagnosis in a matter of minutes. I thought this was an excellent teaching video.
It's meant as an example so students can watch it and then write down their patient note. This way they learn how to write notes on fake patients before they become involved in real patients.
I was the patient in this video and really had viral meningitis in the past, so I knew how to portray the scenario. I found the doc did a great job - I felt well cared for.

Hi! This is how patients (and docs) often refer to asthma medications. In this case, metered dose inhalers. Orange puffer = fluticasone (inhaled corticosteroid). Blue puffer = salbutamol/albuterol (short acting beta 2 agonist).

This video was NOT to teach a neuro exam, but to give an encounter for students to practice writing notes from. :)

Hi! The purpose was to provide a clinical scenario with all the info someone needs to write up a clinical note. It was viral meningitis, though. I personally had viral meningitis in the past, so the acting I did as the patient, wasn't really acting. It was remembering and sharing. So glad it resolved. :)
