Aang has the best moves
true!
Roku says being the avatar has it's way with the ladies. 😏
sooooo true!
When it s coming on netflix doe?
rares.11 it’s already on Netflix but on the kids one
That tidbit about the Air Nomads having an "army" just shows that history is written by the victors.
Not necessarily but people like to exaggerate.
Spartan Dare actually his statement is COMPLETELY true because there are no Air nomads left to tell the history. The history was 100 percent written by the victors (fire nation)
@@smallfryskilledge1550 if you put it that way yeah, although there might be more documents out there xd
Spartan Dare I don’t think the nomads would have a time to create documents about it, since they were busy being ambushed. 😂
Maybe the comics have more answers .. totally found the answer to zuko mom
I can imagine everyone talking about him months or years later.
"Remember that kid? The goofy one who stopped Hide without touching him and had that awesome cave dance party?"
"Oh yeah, Kuzon!"
"Man, I miss Kuzon."
" Yeah, weird he turned out to be the avatar."

I love this scene, it tells that not all fire nation citizen are bad, they just trapped into sozin's propaganda
Such a wise phrase, Priscilla.
William Tang Dandelion is that you?
just like north korea
Mr Berk I'm sorry to say but I don't even know who he is. But I'm sure if he's famous enough to have you know him then it would be a picture not a letter in the circle.
William Tang oh it was a reference to the Witcher series of books/games. So in that universe one of the main characters named Dandelion is madly in love with someone called Priscilla, and this Dandelion is basically the Shakespeare of the Witcher series writing various plays/poems etc for her. Also I love the way in which you phrase your words, much respect :)
My boy Aang should’ve just used the age old trick of moving his mouth and not actually attempting to SAY the anthem
Ah yes; the Redwood Manuver XD.
I do that all the time lol 😂
How will he learn to speak the anthem if he doesn't try to say the words?

I think sokka enjoyed his role as the “strict dad” lol

Indeed
And ironically he didn't have any children
Although some fans believe that he's Suyin's father, but is not confirmed, but her eldest son baatar kinda looks like sokka, mostly when he joins the earth empire
he kept the beard and reused em as disguise in the comics
I think he enjoyed the beard more
"go to your room" it's genius 😂 how they somehow managed to perfectly inject modern jokes with in a series which has ancient settings
"Genius" is a stretch. Especially considering how the corny 80s cliches injected into it really harm this episode.
Well the fire nation is very 19th centurish wich isnt what I would call ancient
Yes. I like how the avatar world is one where everyone speaks American English, have mostly Japanese or Chinese-sounding names, and write everything in Chinese

I love how unfazed aang is while "fighting" that bully, he's probably living up another small chance he's got at being a kid again that he even starts smiling midway through
also goes to show how strong a fighter he's had to become at this age, how another regular teenager can't do anything to him
@warner tesla 12 yo azula vs 12 yo aang would be cool. Azula 2 years younger than she is in the show. I think aang would lose ngl cause while Azula would find it extremely difficult to tag aang, if she does tag him once he's out of the fight. though it depends on which aang we are talking about. aang with all 4 elements mastered would obliterate Aazula cause theres nothing Azula could do. ang could use her own fire against her or deflect her fire.
warner tesla Wym Aang has her father on the ropes if he just hit ozai with the lightning and azula lost to Katara. To be fair she was mental but still aang has all four elements and now can redirect lightning and take bending
That was just a mobility/dodging drill to him
And that aang has already gone up against some pretty tough characters at this point. That kid is nothing.

Aang is not only a spy, but a reformist of the fire nation.
His ideas are old when you think about how old he is.
Aang was mistaken by a hooky student because his outfit was a school uniform, but he convinced sokka to let him stay with the pretense to learn more about the fire nation
Technically he is just leading them back to their old ways right?

Those poor kids don’t understand what happens in the world outside them
That can be applied to any group of kids. I mean, Aang probably had less of an idea of what the world was like when he was studying at the air temple.
Eorzat I know but there fed lies just like the adults when they were kids
It was a lot like how the Japanese kids were like during WW II - they had no idea what their country was doing.
Instead, they were taught that Japan's role in WW II was that it brought unity and prosperity to Asia.
There is no war in ba sing se

I love the expression on the teachers face when he's responding to Aang's dancing. It shows both that he's either frustrated at his student, or, and this is what I believe, he knows the pain of not being able to fully express one's self through their art

Nothing official, but there's a cool well written fanfiction about not exactly this, but at least about what maybe could've happened with those kids after Kuzon/Aang left, "The Legacy of the Headband" by Golden Solidus, on fanfiction . net
"When Aang masqueraded as Kuzon for a few days and mysteriously disappeared after throwing a secret dance party, his actions changed the small Fire Nation school. Revolution is afoot! Societal messages abound. Includes On Ji, Shoji, Hide, and others."
Unfortunately, it seems to be abandoned (timelinewise, abandoned a few weeks before the failed invasion of the fire nation capital), but what's there is nice to read if you're wondering how the school and the kids could've been affected by Aang:)

Teacher: “I don’t see how you could possibly know more than our national history books, unless you were there 100 years ago”
**Discovers Kuzon is the Avatar**
Teacher: “...oh”
And the teachers need to retell their propaganda stories to the students after the war is over
I love how scarily accurate this is. The Fire Nation invades and annexes another nation, and then calls it a "colony", which is a much nicer word. And everyone just accepts it like they just saw it on the news the other day and were like "oh yeah, that happened".
Not to mention it’s also interesting, how the bully kid regards Aang as “colony trash”, as well as the teacher calling him calling him a colonist slob with no manners, which indicates that fire nation colonists are somewhat looked down on.
It’s not a nicer word at all. That’s literally just the word you use when referring to territory a nation owns outside of its homeland 😂
They didn’t just accept it. By this point, they’d had colonies for around a hundred years. They were used to it.
@@princenadroj9766 Because the people in the colonies aren’t actual Fire Nation people. They’re Earth Kingdom people that the Fire Nation is trying to assimilate. It would be like a Frenchman looking down on a Vietnamese person or a Brit looking down on an Indian.
Does anybody else love the way Aang’s headband is animated? It swings around so smoothly.
*It’s the little details*
Aang: "I want to throw them a secret dance party. :)"
Sokka: "Go to your room."

What’s really interesting about this episode is that it illustrates who the people of the Fire Nation really are: Not evil by nature, merely living in a world shaped by endless propaganda.

He dodged all of Zhao's fire blasts, and in the end, Zhao nearly died from his own fire.

A couple months before this happened Aang took down 12 fire nation army ships all alone, fought the fire prince and fire princess on multiple occasions, fought arguably two of the strongest earthbenders alive (Bumi and Toph) and is actively training to take on the firelord. so glad that the comments are open
Obsessed with how they have recorded years based on the first pop “question” that we never hear about. Like... what year did the events of this show take place? When did recorded years start in this universe??
"You get to be normal all the time" says Aang to two people forced to lead their tribe after their father left for war and a person that was locked up and forced to sneak out to do anything.
You know this are crazy times if that is what passes for normal.
Toph: so after being in this group for this long, I finally lost track of what is actually considered normal.

Well yes, but actually yes.
"Impressive, I admit--but I still think it's too dangerous!" Sokka is the kind of friend that will look out for your interests while also tolerating your weirdness. He's great.
Toph trolling Sokka with a simple "haha" never gets old.
4:15 we have 3 imposters among us
I love how they age Aang by having him so lost on how much things changed over the years. The Nations as he knew them are long gone, which overall is sad, but it's presented funny enough most times
I love how Toph turned Aang's "You get to be normal all the time." line from a positive statement to a negative one with a simple "HA HA"
"don't you worry headmaster, I'll straighten this boy out" gets me everytime
“The Headband” will always be one of my favorite ATLA episodes 💃🕺
Man I really wish Aang had some reunion with the fire nation kids after the war, they had a lovely friendship eventhough it was short
