A college buddy of mine said that he saw Herby at an airport a couple weeks after the Orange Bowl, said he couldn't resist saying "Hey, Herby, great job on that Orange Bowl prediction!" Said that Kirk just laughed and said "Hey, if you're going to be wrong, be REALLY wrong."

  • @charcoalcowboy

That was one of the most insane beatdown a ive ever seen live and it wasn’t a fluke. West Virginia really was that much more talented than Clemson

  • @ianzang2178

Back when West Virginia was one of the most fun teams to watch

  • @sewing3049

Man I miss when the Mountaineers were good.

  • @wesfields9322

Stedman bailey and tavon austin goes down in history as top 10 wr duos of all time ncaa. Absolute deadly duo

  • @biggiestretch

Grateful as hell I got to witness that Mountaineer team and “The South Beach Smackdown” live.

  • @brandonjones557

Two programs moving in different directions. But this game you wouldn't realize it was the loser with the better future.

  • @dylan2860

That is the worse loss for Clemson in a while... oh wait Duke is calling one sec.. 🤣

  • @fabionpettigrew8249

As a child, I remember thinking it was crazy seeing a team score 70 but now, after watching this, I realize they could’ve scored more

  • @randallreid424

I was at that game and being from West Virginia it’s amazing how cocky and arrogant the Clemson fans were and how quiet and dumbfounded they were the entire game and the coolest part was meeting a couple blokes from Australia that were diehard mountaineer fans hell they even had tattoos of our mascot and said we’d be surprised how popular our football team was over there very cool and the Aussie guys were amazing cool people

Herby has a history of this . In the 2007 national championship game between the Florida Gators and Ohio State he made the statement that Florida shouldn’t even be in the game and that Ohio was going to put up 300 yards passing on Florida. Florida beat Ohio 41 to 14 for the national title and Ohio only put up about 80 yards passing. Did my heart some good.

I don't usually waste my money on T-shirts. But when I do I buy WV destroyed opponent T-shirts. I remember this game vividly because right after the 3rd quarter all of the "majority" of Clemson "fans" began moving towards the exits, to beat the traffic of course. It was pure, unadulterated destruction and well worth it.

when i was in college (2000 - 2004), my roommate and i used to bet on some games with a bookie on campus. one of our criteria was: "what did herbstreit pick? let's do the opposite." we did pretty well.

  • @georgefrawley890

I remember this game and always loved it then and still love it whenever blurt herbspit eats crow.

  • @tastylicks

"Clemson hoping for a 3 and out here" LOL

  • @OldManLuffy

This was so satisfying to watch and yet sad tavon didnt turn out how I thought he would in the nfl i thought he would be what cmc is but even more dangerous sadly it never happened. 1 of the best college seasons ive seen from a wr.

  • @user-rd1dc2bc7l

My uncle coached and recruited tavon and geno at WVU, those guys were built different

  • @allenatkins2263

They don't call him the best analyst in college football for nothing folks.

  • @bjgolden304

I think that's the worst beating Dabbo has had at Clemson other than the title game against LSU. Awesome to see Geno getting a chance again. I think he will make the best of it this year. I love when the whole country is wrong by picking against us.

  • @omar10213245

God that was such a satisfying night. I still think that had WVU not shit the bed against Pitt in 2007, they'd have gone on to whip LSU's ass in the National Championship game. WVU from 2005-2011 was perhaps the most exciting offensive football in the history of college football.
