"Quicksand" along the track between Mos Espa and Ong Jmal, Tunisia

From Tozeur I head to Mos Espa, one of the most famous sites in Tunisia where some epic Star Wars scenes were filmed, including podracing. The road to get there is a very normal asphalt road, which however unwinds sinuously among the desert dunes, offering quite suggestive views and expanses of sand as far as the eye can see.
After the short visit to Mos Espa, chased by a more than insistent camel driver, I head towards Ong Jmal. After a few kilometers the compact sand track begins to become slippery due to the rain that fell in the previous days. I try to continue, even though the motorbike begins to skid noticeably, until the sand begins to transform into a sort of quicksand that is more slimy than mud and where both the motorbike's tires and my boots begin to sink.
I therefore reluctantly decide to turn back so as not to risk getting stuck.
