You can't say enough how much this music means to us older folks who lived and grew up with it. At all the parties, kids would bring their latest 45's and it was always a great time for all. Thanks to all Doo Wop groups that made it happen.

Saw them in concert 2016 he was on a cane that night. My heart is broken didn't know about his passing, could you please give me some details about it.
Don't have much info, other that he died at 80 years of diabetes complications. Saw him in person a number of times also and always put on a great show. Thanks for your comments.
Oh what a voice!!! I grew up in late 60 and was into rock and soul. So a resturaunt I go to plays doo wop so the rest is history. If it sounds good, I listen.💖💝😘😘😘😘🥰😍

I was seven years old when this song was release. My sister was 12 years older then me. So alot of songs I remember because of her. This was one of my favorites. The Jive 5 still have the it factor they still sound good.Those were song that made you feel good. I miss those feelings.

At the time the song was at #21 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, three weeks later it would peak at #3 {for 2 weeks} and it spent 19 weeks on the Top 100...
And on September 5th, 1961 it reached #1 {for 3 weeks} on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart...
The Brooklyn, NY quintet had three other Top 100 records, "Never, Never" {#74 in 1961}, "What Time Is It?" {#67 in 1962}, and "I'm A Happy Man" {#36 in 1965}...
Lead singer and founding member Eugene Pitt will celebrate his 80th birthday in three months on November 6th {2017}...

I have the original on a 45 and I've seen numerous renditions of the Jive Five singing My True Story -- but this rendition is without a doubt (at least IMO) the best one of all that I've seen. Eugene really gets down at the end that it gave me chills!
