- Today we dive into legendary Australian rock band INXS. "Elegantly Wasted" is the lead single from their tenth & final studio album recorded with lead singer Michael Hutchence. The album was released in April 1997, Hutchence would pass away in November of that same year.

Hello was a great fantastic front man ♂️♂️♂️ I luv inxs saw um so so so many times live they were one of my favourite bands and still today I totally miss Michael hutchence he was epic and the band 🎉🎉🎉

INXS became sensations in the 80s, but their 90s work was excellent and underrated. The album Welcome to Wherever You Are from 1992, imo, is one of their best, and Elegantly Wasted was a solid album with a diverse sound. The future looked bright, until….

1 in 1989 called Max Q, one of the best albums ever .
And
A self titled solo album titled Micheal Hutchence , released in 1999 , after his passing .

There are loads of hidden gems on every album that never made it to radio because they had so many great songs … ❤ as an Australian 🇦🇺 I’m so proud they were a huge part of my years growing up

Very underrated album. Girl on Fire, Don't Lose Your Head (from Face-Off soundtrack), I'm Just A Man are my favorites on the album.

Gary Beers is a great bass player. Thanks for appreciating Michael; he was such a superstar. I agree about the cool factor. They worked so hard for their success and it shows.
I miss michael. I miss him badly. I cry every day. I know that sounds unhinged, but I do. I loved him.
I still miss him, too. Losing him was tragic.

Fun Fact/Myth: Its hard to know for sure, but Michael didn't deny it and even slightly indicated its truth, albeit in a jokingly way. That is, as the scuttlebutt says, after the song was completed...a drunk Michael went to the recording studio late at night and rerecorded the backing vocals and changed it from "Elegantly Wasted" to "Even better than Oasis". We will never know what the truth is, but i dare you to listen again and not hear better than Oasis 😂

INXS presented an award to Oasis and that moron Gallagher called them has deens ! Michael went back to the studio and changed the words to this song from Elegantly wasted to, Better than Oasis . I cant help singing it in my head every time I hear it.
