Just made my mind after watching this video to go with your stainless kit for ls engines thanks for all the support to the racing industry. Y'all rock 👍👍
No problem, appreciate you!

Doug Cook, The Master!! Great information, Brother!
Douglas E. Fresh,
I love these tech tips, keep em coming! Quick and to the point, great info as always. Thanks for posting!
Awesome information man, made sense of things that never made sense.. 👍👍👍
Another fantastic video from Motion! Thank you for always being there for the car community
I really like these tech tip Tuesdays. I decided to pull the trigger on my car and your line of products will find their way on my car, Thanks again .
Used your hard steam lines now 3 times and love them.
Oh that what the extra connection is on my new radiator 😁,(I'm waiting for a few parts for my AC installation) I'm still an old school guy with a SBC, I thought it it was for an sacrificial anode.
I do enjoy your channel for information on new things that you guys make as well as for the explanation.
One year I will be getting a new engine 😁
Simple and easy. I have a swirl pot and was going to vent directly into that. This video pretty much confirmed my decision.
Greatly appreciate the time that you spend to bring us these Tech tip Tuesdays.. It really helps this old school SBC guy, to come up to date with the newer LS 's... what would be a good cam to make about 600 horsepower naturally aspirated in an LS 5.3 L
600HP out of a 5.3 is a very lofty goal without boost; I would not expect a 600HP NA 5.3 to be very friendly. You would stand a much better chance of doing it with 6.0 or bigger.
You want that steam to go to the highest point in Waterloop, otherwise it cause cavitation in the water pump if you have it dumping into the water pump. Factory GM location is directly below the radiator cap, in the radiator fill neck.
you want it after the water pump in the upper radiator return hose which goes basically to where he says in this video
You can also run a degas tank that will have all of the ports you need already on it.
I Love Hott Pockets!
Thanks Doug : Got one on it way ..Dan
Thanks Dan!
Very informative thanks for the video!
Love your tech videos , thanks
The path of least resistance, where they will not get excessively hot, remain as short as possible and will not get damaged.
Good stuff as always...
A hot engine does not cause a lean condition, a lean condition can cause HOT though!
Also, be sure it runs uphill, no dips to act as steam trap.
Great content thanks for sharing
Why not do a "cooler" in line ,to make a negative pressure to "suck" out the steam ?
Good information.. thanks
Can anyone explain why steam pockets would cause a lean condition? I get why it would increase cylinder temperatures but not why it would go lean. Thanks in advance!
Mybe get so hott it vaporizes fuel in the rails are carburetors I read fuel can boil below 100 degrees somewhere idk 🤷♂️ I was thinking same thing
Thanks!!
How about venting the steam straight up out of the hood to plant the front end of our cars?
Asking for habitual wheeliers Jackstand and Cleetus. (Yes, Ruby has a hood, dang gummit.)
Great Content & Product Thanks 👍
Please advise best way to Mount to Rear of L94 6.2 that "looks" to be Set Screw Pluged from Factory - I pick Up Next Week for a DoD Delete, Norris Cam, ect for Swap into 96 Land Cruiser
Thanks for Tip on Radiator Loop
Old Navy Machinist
On a 2003 Chevy Silverado I can run that steam port to the where I put the water in right the overflow tank or whatever you want to call it above the radiator on the passenger fender let me know.
How does that 1/8” hole not leak? Self tapping? Needs a weld?
you weld it
My factory s10 radiator has a port below the rad cap, but it's about midway down the radiator...will this still be ok?
What if you have a radiator with no cap ?
Does it work with the ls6 intake? Because i know the stock steam tube doesn't
Does it have to be pressurized? If not, just drop it down like the AC in most cars do.
Yeah it does mate or all ur coolant would get pushed out of it
Next week should be how and how not to power wheelie
Jack up the pinion angle, air down tires to 16-20 psi, transbrake w/ 4000 stall, add 700+Hp and WHEEELIE!!!!!!
So what is the recommendation for stock truck intake ? Thanks 😎
Mine has been plumbed into the back of the water pump for the last 9 years with no problems.
Adding steam to water pump makes no sense but it might be convenient. Would circulation improve taking it to radiator where high press bleeds off......I think so.
@@fasteddy don’t over think this subject. 10 years now in 100 plus temp and still no problems.
For applications using an expansion tank would I plumb into that just below the cap? Above or below the water level in the expansion tank?
Would it be easier to just route it to the overflow bottle/can?
What intake is that
I have this kit. Do you know what aftermarket intakes will clear it besides a Hi Ram?
Which year? Has 4 hose steam ? My 04 swap has only 2 on front
all LS heads have the ports in the back, some are just plugged from the factory. Using them all isn't a bad thing.
@@mathewshackelford8037 @ isn’t a bad idea to use the 99-2000 hoses for all 4 ports,,?
@@gerardolopez5875 it's not a bad idea to use all 4 ports.
@@mathewshackelford8037 @ ok, thanks
Mmm, hot pockets...
So I need to change mine? I have a 5th gen Ls3/L99 for you picky asses.. anyway mine only have the front corners and ran to the rad. Well when I changed the cam and delete the steam kit I got just runs from one side to the other looping the system. My car is a daily and not a race car so is it that big of a deal or should I change it?
Do y’all make them for the 5.7 hemi
Would it still be efficient or recommended to go -6 out to the radiator?
-4 is plenty but you can definitely do -6
What kit is useable on an LS2 with FAST 102?
Go on summit racing or use lycos lol
Going to the water pump =bad
Feed air(steam) into the pump WILL cause
A) cavitation
B) feed that Supper heated (2-300°f)air back
Is anybody ever gonna talk about the tubular radiator supports ?
We don’t make them, those are made by Rhodes Custom Auto
@@MotionRaceworksOfficial thank you
I tapped the water pump for mine
Queef vents
You toking so much
don't need them on a 5.0 coyote
Derp, this is a Gen 3/4 SBC, It was an engineering solution for a Engine Design that was launched in 1996 and was last produced for vehicles in 2016 (Isuzu NPR) that got rid of the wet intake. Coyote came out in 2010 if I'm not mistaken...
LTs probably dont require them. Coyotes also cost way more.

Any idea if the small metal gaskets are needed under the steam pipe? I installed a factory vent pipe on the rear of my 03 Z06. Leaks intermittently… new felpro O- rings (match factory), and clean mounting surface.
Still leaks… torqued to spec each time… still leaks. Front never leaked, and never had the small metal gaskets.
