Still think Landon was better as of now. He had more decisive moments in big games and of course is insanely consistent at national level. But of course Pulisic has so much more career left. Def think he and Reyna will move past him eventually
@@kickingitwithdrew its hard to argue for Landon over someone who had a successful european career like Dempsey. But I think he fit right in with Bayern and Everton in his short stints and if he was made differently up stairs (and Im not saying this negatively) I think he does just fine in Europe. His performances in the World Cup were clutch and thats why I rate him over Clint. He could pass, he could defend if he had to, he could stretch a back line, or he could drop in and create and was arguably the better finisher than Clint having scored so many with his left and right, from outside box, inside box and through sheer pace whereas Dempsey had less dimensions to his game. Love Clint tho
I remember seeing the 2014 line up and thinking he really didn't take Donovan just to start 6 CMs in a game. If I was a coach I would 100% prefer the 2024 team. In a head to head though, I think withought Adams 2014 team would win. Without a proper dm we leak too much and our cbs and gks are error prone when pressed down the middle. Donovan is still the usmnt field player goat. Also, LA Galaxy is back!
Good video overall. I disagree with the fonal point though. I believe that the 2014 squad would beat this current squad if they played. The skill and ability of this current team is much better, but it is also much softer and can't perform under pressure as well as the boys of old. Making a combined eleven would be cool too 👏

Nobody knows but hes got just enough talent to make it a good career and Im cool with that for a USMNT bench option. Balogun is a question mark for me and I wonder if he slips down the radar before the world cup and is pushed aside by Sargent/Pepi how he reacts. I have a sneaking suspicion he could turn out to be a Juilan Green, Timothy Chandler, Johansson guy, someone with so much promise that for whatever reason just never clicked
Klinsman was absolutely wrong for leaving Donovan off the roster. He was better than 4/5 of the other 23. And, Kinsman was proven wrong when, predictably, Altidore got injured.
Its not crazy that we competed with those teams because you are simply underrating those guys. Those were legit pros who if playing well and on same page could compete.
For sure pros and played well. We comported because how strong these guys were, experienced in the game and mentally stronger than most of the players we have currently. They were definitely legends.

Yedlin, Johansson, Geoff, were all solid bench guys. Johanssons career was cut short by injury, but he was a talented guy
