- Relax as I show you the 2020 Jinhao 85 wood fountain pen that I recently acquired. Jinhao has once again produced a nice copy of a high-end luxury fountain pen. Parker Pen announced in 2019 that they would release a modern version of the world renowned classic 51 fountain pen. Jinhao took notice, hit the drawing boards and released their copycat version months before Parker could bring the 51 Reissue to market.
The original Parker 51 fountain pen was a revolutionary design and was first developed in 1939 and introduced to the whole world in 1941. Parker ceased production of the 51 in 1972 after cheap, ball-point pens had taken market-share away from fountain pens, but 80 years after the original, the Parker 51 fountain pen lives again in two new versions, the core (standard) version and the Deluxe model which Jinhao knocked off with their model 85 fountain pen.
I hope this post finds you well. Some of you know that I am a fan of vintage Parker 51 fountain pens. When I learned that Parker was releasing an all-new 51, I saved up and bought the deluxe version in the plum finish. I also purchased the Jinhao 85 copy. My initial thoughts on the 85 are favorable and I will be using it for a few weeks and intend to report back in the future, my thoughts on this beautiful fountain pen.

I’ve been here since 2016. This channel is and will probably always be my favorite ASMR channel. I love every aspect about this dude’s vids and there’s no one quite like him anywhere else.
Me as well….I saw his catapult video, when I first discovered what they now call “ASMR”. I had no idea what that term meant. I just knew that I always fell asleep to Bob Ross…..whether I was tired or not. And, loved those tingles. I fell down a CZcams rabbit hole, and landed on this guy’s channel, and learned that today they call it ASMR and have been watching him ever since. Little did I know there are thousands of people doing this, and very few of them “get it”. This man has an incredible gift. HIs Chinese calligraphy video is still my favorite :-)

I love the brushing and often come back to just that moment. It’s the earnest quality of it. A video of someone intentionally brushing something does nothing for me, but that moment where he tries to mimic the traditional ASMR is a major trigger for me. It takes all kinds :)
Fond memories of riding my bike to the local stationary store/candy shop and buying flints and fluid for my zippo when I was a teen. That lighter was the best, Guns N Roses design on the side.

I’ve been falling asleep to your videos for a few years now. They are the most relaxing, and definitely the most knowledgeable out of all the ASMR channels I’ve watched. I’ve watched dozens of channels, and nothing comes close to yours. You appear to be a very smart man, and seem like you would be an amazing person in general! If I may make a request for a future video please? Would you ever consider doing one where you measure (weights, dimensions using the calliper & v-block) different objects - perhaps your pens or cars - and note down the results? I think that, plus your vocals, would be my dream video!
You call your video's boring??? I call them super relaxing and interesting at the same time. I admit I had to watch this one 8 times before I got till the very end, because every time I fell to sleep at different points. Still, I wanted to know the continuation because I like your content so much (especially the fountain pen content). Also your advice on life in general is of much value. Some of your video's I even watched more than 30 times. Hopefully you keep doing this for a very long time.

While I know nothing about pens or some of the other items you have talked about, I don't think the topics are boring. Similar to Bob Ross. I was never going to paint, but listening to him talk about painting and other things and sounds of the painting was the enjoyable part. Your videos are the same, very enjoyable to listen too and may learn something (if can stay awake) 🙃 keep it up good sir. More slot car vids! . Lol

As kids we were taught itallic writing. It's been years since I used an ink pen. And thanks to you. I got a Jinhao x450 with black ink. I intend to use it as my main pen. I'm fed up with the cheap nasty biro. They suck. 👍

What's the difference between vintage and retro?
Vintage = at least 30 years old item. Retro = new item made to look old.
15,265 views and only 597 likes. Take half of a second to hit the Like button as a Thank You for him making this video. Too many people are getting complacent on youtube now and they're probably the same kind of person who doesn't tip a waiter for a good job. ASMR videos take a long time to create and edit, sometimes requiring more than one take. Anyone who knows anything about behind the scenes based on other people's videos detailing what all they go through is able to appreciate that. It requires lighting, camera angles, audio positioning, camera equipment and audio equipment that doesn't last forever, time to come up with new ideas, etc. Do the equivalent of tipping and hit the Like button. I've watched his videos since he was in the early thousands years ago. The least that we can do is be supportive. I have read comments from others in past videos where they claimed that the 'style' of ASMR wasn't the kind that they like, yet they are frequently here and probably watched the whole video and refused to give a like. Half of a second? C'mon, people. In my busiest of days, half of a second is nothing and I make sure to Like each video. I have no relation to him, but I enjoy his good content and all of us should be making sure that we are supportive with each video. With only 597 Likes and 15,000+ views, we are clearly showing that a large majority are not being supportive like they should be.
I try not to get Jinhao pens because they are Chinese, but sometimes I just can’t resist because of how good they are.
