Having problem with the return spring and the lever cannot return back to its position correctly, hope this video can help you on how to fix it. Magura MT7 #magura #magurabrakes
I was able to straighten the spring out with needle nose pliers without taking everything apart. I only took the brake lever off the bars. Thank goodness. All that disassembly isn't my cup of tea.
Thanks so much, 'virtually' saved my MT8 lever. You made it look much easier than it was for me though! I found the only way I could do it was to hold the lever (between some soft wood of course) in the vice and then coax the spring into place. Be interesting if I hear back from Magura because I was convinced the spring was broken so asked if its possible to get a replacement. Cheers again, owe you a beer!
Oh yeah bro 😄👍, at first I thought it was broken as well, but when I open up the other side (which is no problem) to compare the spring only found that it was in the same shape😂
Awesome! Thank you for sharing this fix. I thought the only way to resolve this was purchasing new lever blades... This is such a simple fix. I've been trying to figure out how to open the top cover of the master cylinder without breaking it. Have you been able to figure out how to do that?
Thx, its work for me too. This levers are sucks btw, planning to change the other mt7 lever if this will happen again. Still fine after smash 5 times to the ground
You can also return spring without this complete rebuilt. Idealy remove BT pin and then push the spring with flat screwdriver into to place and you are done.
Thank for the suggestion bro 👌, actually this is the 2nd time the spring come out from it location, I was try to straighten the spring a little bit, hopefully it will not easily come out again after that.
I was driving myself nuts thinking I installed something wrong when I changed out a lever…. Then it came to me a week later today when I realized the lever I changed out was on a whole different bike than this one.. Lol. Does nobody check the springs before they leave the factory? 🤦🏽🤘🏽💛
Tks for the video indeed very helpful. Was told by an agent to replace the whole lever but than just came across your video which is also the same as my issue also is on the left side as well.
Question my dear friend. I've noticed today that both levers at my Magura MT7 Pro can be extended in opposite way (outside the normal way). Will it be the same case as shown here?
Yup bro both levers can be extended in opposite way, but have to be careful not to over extended it, I was over extended the lever and the return spring was tear off....
So much thanks for this tip 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Magura MT7 are as fragile as they are powerful...
Thank you!!! I was using some tie wrap to keep it together until I saw your video. Much appreciated. Fixed my Magura MT7s.
Thanks! My loose mt8 lever has been driving me bonkers. Its amazing how common this is.
