    I love when people mention procrastination because I always feel like it's just me!! I think procrastination is a disease(not for all), and maybe related to fear of failure or perceived possible hardships. I think more than anything, we must keep going! thanks for the video!

      I really do think my procrastination was related to some sort of intimidation by this project - like somehow I felt like I wasn’t good enough for making that dress! But I am glad I started and this dress is still one of my most favourite dresses and I wear it all the time! ❤️🌸

      That is so, so, so kind!!! Thank you so much. So, I bought my sewing machine last year in September, but only properly started sewing in May this year! So the trench coat, was my third sewing project. I just practiced how to sew straight and then went from there. I think a pattern is so helpful when you start out because it's just tells you what to do and when you don't understand, what they're asking you, you can always google it! And I personally really love my Janome 360DC! Love it, and it does what I need it to do, especially since I mainly use it for dressmaking! But I know that Singer and Brother have some great machines too! Does that answer your questions?

      Hey so here’s how to best describe it. Wrong sides together stitch. Trim. Then right sides together, stitch. But there’s lot of videos / tutorials available that explain it so much better. X

    What kind of fabric is that you used?

    • @AlexandraBurnett
      @AlexandraBurnett  Před 3 lety +2

      It’s printed cotton! It was a very basic fabric I got from a shop called “Fabric Galore” here in London. But incredibly soft and flowy which is what I would recommend for this project! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

      I did try to give out the measurements - it was my first time making this dress - I was more following the tutorial than making a tutorial. Eeek - go to ByHandLondon on Instagram. That’s where I found the tutorial and you will be able to get more information.

      My bust Is 38 inches so can I add 2 inches extra for sewing?

    • @AlexandraBurnett
      @AlexandraBurnett  Před 3 lety +1

      @@pipu2008 Hi, so if your bust is 38 inches you need to add 14 inches to that (half of your bust) meaning you will need your fabric to be 52 inches wide. The formula mentioned in the video is your bust + half of your bust. Hope this helps.

    • @pipu2008
      @pipu2008 Před 3 lety

      So to take 52 is whole body measurement or to take 52 for frond and 52 for back? Mean frond+back=104

    Which fabric?

    • @AlexandraBurnett
      @AlexandraBurnett  Před 3 lety +2

      I think it’s some sort of rayon/viscose type fabric. Can’t really remember - just bought it in a shop based on how it felt.
