Yep, the Taurus is one of the most underrated ships out there.
28 SCU ? Who told you that the base MISC Freelancer had 28 SCU ? Try 66 SCU. And don't worry about the narrow corridor, it has a side ladder access on the left hand side.
It comes equipped with 2x size 2 shields and coolers. It also has 4x size 3 gimballed guns.
I think I was talking about a different vehicle or a comparison. I'll have to go back and watch the video and see what I said.... I'm so busy with work. I haven't had many videos in a couple weeks.
I disagree with this list because the ships were not ranked on the tiered list from what the video title stated. The "Star Citizen: Cargo Hauler Tier List" has nothing to do with hauling cargo. Because the main thing would be the load a ship can carry. To say a Hull A is S tier over a C2 is just madness regarding moving cargo.
totally, this guy have no idea, he do a video with his prefered ship, no more
Well its cheap and price matters. Its got the most amount of cargo for the price. Its also easy to load. And its all around a nice ship.
There’s more to a ship than just saying it’s a fighter or it hauls cargo. Yes, a c2 hauls more, but it’s enormous, attracts attention, needs a huge area to land in, needs more crew to load, unload and operate efficiently. Hull A is the opposite and might require multiple runs, but will do it quieter more efficiently with less crew.
What about RAFT? It has those big containers and right now you have to load them one at the time.
I want to say I disagree with your assessment but honestly, I don’t think I understand your matrix.
Then what would be your top 3 cargo hauling vessels?
@@Brokenfang77 For capacity, the Hercules series, Catepillar and Carrack. Med size cargo; Taurus, Max and MSR. Small: freelancer, Hull A and Nomad. However, that is just measuring by size and capacity. You were considering far more factors and therefore more complex than mine but I don't have your experience.
The Caterpillar's biggest issues are neglect and power creep from other haulers, I still prefer to use it over the C2 though.
The C2 is really annoying about the elevator, it is a pain to use because of that. Outside that, it's a nice ship.
MSR is fast and cool, but the time to get in and out and all that wasted ventilation space kinda bugged me.
I love the Connie’s hope they get an update for buttons n stuff
My man's talkin about fidelity all video long and then puts the constellation in S-tier smh
The more I evaluate and use the Taurus, the more I realize just how good it really is. Quickly becoming my favorite all-around daily driver
Connie in general is goated.
The MAX was supposed to be the biggest cargo hauler you could get into a worm hole wasnt it? will the connie fit?
I love the MAX. It needs a pass, but its an amazing ship overall. At least a C teir if not B.
it definitly needs a rework. cargo and component spots, the rest is nice ^^
@@stefankohler2767 I love the MAX but last time i tried to get out of it it put me in the turret 3 TIMES! i melted it straight away, I know i could use the side door, but man that feels cramped, i do not have claustrophobia but the lancers make me feel like i have!
@@Dorm_ go more left from the turret and you should be fine ^^ with opening the door
I bought a C1 and gave up my cutty for it. But there's still somethings I want that cutty for. Quick in and out, lovely and maneuverable and those tall legs man... So much better for getting down on planet.
I don't know, that's a tough one I find that the only version I like is the Cutty red. I gladly give up the turret for the 2 medical beds. And I find that running cargo missions really isn't to. Profitable. At this time until the economy rework, and that could be a year or 2.
@@Brokenfang77 I would say that's fair and the red is probably the one with the most utility. For hot dropping yourself into a location with a couple of mates and maybe some small vehicle(s) like a few Nox's or a Cyclone it's fantastic!
I can understand stuff like corsair or carrack being omitted due to their roles not being intended, but where is the raft??? Reinforced Advanced FRIEGHT TRANSPORT?? Why wasn't it on the list?
It's not that the raft is a bad ship,. It's just in a weird place you can only load cargo on it through a kiosk..It's excluded from the other gameplay loops like salvaging. So until they figure out the cargo containers. I can't recommend it.
Where's the Argo R.A.F.T.?
Many ships will gain much value when tractor beams for ships come to the verse, like the Taurus.
I think you are right, manual cargo refactor will make some cargo transfer time consuming, but i think you will be able yo pay npcs to do it. Also remember there will be 32 scu boxes at some point for hull b and c
I look forward to the 32SU cargo.
they really need to update the catapillar. not having access ramp or elevator yet to really load the ship is getting annoying.
That's a good point. Today is Drake day for the expo., Most of that stuff is super tired at this point. Came out 4 or 5 years ago
I dislike the flight model of the hull A, but agree on its ease of loading but I’m onboard with the Taurus. That ship is the king for me as it covers so much, once the bottom turret tractor beam comes on board the Taurus will only get better especially as it’s got that protected rear cargo space for drugs. Agree on the rest, C2 is great for profit but that starter QD is a priority upgrade. I tend to get past that in early game with focus small jumps until I upgrade. You did miss the RAFT, yes it’s has a few bugs but when tractor beams come on board it’s going to be a great little ship I think. Again Raft is a favorite or mine. I think the Star runner might get a boost when the new flight model comes onboard as I believe it will shine as the fastest cargo ship and will outrun the mantis to allow it to QT away. But time will tell I guess. Maybe a new one of these once the cargo mechanics and new flight model is introduced.
I think I generally agreed with some of the positive statements you’ve brought up, but I think I personally feel like you weighted personal experience a bit more heavily than I would have preferred for a list like this. I understand the MAX is a bit rough to load and doesn’t have the nice buttons on the side, but objectively it can make much more profit with cargo running than the Cutlass. Similarly, I think saying the Cat is a lower tier than the MSR and Cutty when this is a tier list on viability for cargo running feels disingenuous to the point of the list. It may fly like a brick and be missing features, but for the purpose of cargo hauling it will (currently in SC) almost always be better.
I could see the case for Black to be on the same tier as MAX despite their SCU difference, and I could get behind the Cat being lower tier than the C2 variants and Connies even, but I just don’t think the flight experience should be weighted as heavily as it is here when making a tier list about a career path in the game.
i admire the patience for these Tier list videos ty
The game has changed quite a bit. That tear list is a couple patches old. There's been a few little changes like I know with a hornet. Has moved up. But I still have issues with it. And there's been a few more ships that are added but arguably would fall low in the tear list.
For me a cargo hauler is trading. A caterpillar is good for trading as it has a lot of cargo space and tractor whereas a Cutlass or Hull A are to small for anything but drugs or very special goods. This are more or less small transports but not real cargo hauler. And the open cargo grid of the Hull A has some advantages but if you want to load it, you have to turn it around. All other ships have only one point of entry and the Conny can even be loaded from all sides equally. And regarding Hull C+ ... can they even land on planets if they are loaded?
Thank you for the content, I can’t argue with your reasoning on anything
If you can think of anything I missed..
@@Brokenfang77 as I said in another comment, the Carrack is a de facto cargo hauler at present
@@jvoodoochild2755 your right I have one also, but just never use it for cargo, and i relized the Nomad is missing also
@@Brokenfang77 if you got the Hull-A then I guess the Nomad should be on the list. Also someone here mentioned the Raft, which sadly will not rate high as it should because CI really didn’t follow their “won’t release until game play” commitment
@@jvoodoochild2755 yea, I have the Nomad also just for got to add it in I would give it a B, The Raft needs so much work its a D at this point in the game
I'm agreeing 100% about the Taurus! That ship is the best ship I've flown so far as cargo goes. But I have to disagree with you about the Hull A. That ship is cool and I love the design and how it looks. but that thing has horrible door and ladder operation, and it is so slow and hard to fly it was annoying. I've been blown over sideways 3 times in the hull A because when I try to land the wind knocked it over and I couldn't get back up lol. Hull A would be a D tier hauler for me, due to inconvenient flying.
You put the Cutlass Black in a tier above the Freelancer MAX and the Catepillar in a Cargo Hauler tier list, are you high? 😂 We all have our preferences of course but you'd have to make 10 trips to move 460 scu of cargo in the Cutlass black whereas the MAX would get it done in 4 trips and the Catepillar in one.
The Taurus tractor beam is annoying to aim as it lands slightly to the right. I can’t believe me a bounty hunter is looking at cargo ship tier lists now as I can over in pretty much any ship and need something that’s good to loot with
where does the Raft fit?
I like the doors being selectable rather than having to locate and click on tiny buttons that don't work half the time. At least I know when the big @ss door is highlighted and I know I'm clicking the right thing. I was super bummed when they changed the Pisces. Thinking of melting it actually because it's cheap in game and I absolutely hate getting in and out of it so I only use it when I need a quick spawn. (And with claim times going back down that doesn't seem like its going to be an issue anymore either.)
That's an interesting take on door. I Struggle with the big doors half the time I can't get them to work.. And i'm moving around the door trying to find the spot to make it highlight.. Maybe this is more of a server issue? , and not a ship design? It's you because we're both talking about the same thing but perceiving it differently.
@@Brokenfang77 I think also because I use an xbox controller for FPS our experiences may be different. Half the buttons work with a simple click of the Y button and others I have to go all the way into interaction mode and switch over to the mouse so I can click on them because the shoulder button that is used to activate stuff doesn't work on the elevator buttons. This makes the buttons that act more like the elevator buttons are a super PITA for me, so I think the inconsistency also bugs me a bit. Even if they were all the type I didn't like, I'd get use to it, but having the different types just annoys me. The Drake ships seem to all have buttons, and they are "one click," at least the Cutty and Corsair do. The Buck has a "one click" ladder to the cockpit, but the door on the Pisces acts like an elevator door and that just hinders the experience for me. I think there are a few more ships that have Pisces/Elevator style buttons. Fortunately most seem to have Drake type buttons or the whole door is the button.
Thanks for the response. I enjoy discussing the aspects of this project we play as a game. I am very aware that this is all Alpha and our mileage may very. :)
@@Brokenfang77 I tried getting out of the MAX multiple times, and it kept putting me in the turret! Please I need a button and more space to move around in that lovely ship, I am not asking for alot maybe 15% in size increase and make it 2 players not 4. It`s just not in a good spot and hase not been since 2013!
Do the trade alerts in the Journal ever change? I just started paying attention to them the other day but noticed that the "Alerts" are the same every time. I was thinking about paying attention to them more closely, to increase the efficiency of my trading, but it doesn't seem like they are real.
Not really, and for some reason they have old prices I just ignore that stuff
@@Brokenfang77 Yeah, I was thinking that you could buy certain things and hold on to them and then sell them for a better price when you got an alert. That seems like the original intent, but it seems to have been forgotten as a feature. They probably should just drop it. It ends up just being noise. Great videos by the way.
Disagree on the Max. Tell me again how much you don't like it when it's the largest cargo hold that can go through a small jump point. WAY more useful right now than the MSR. Especially solo. Putting the Black above the Max when talking cargo? Seriously?
You missed the key takeaway, " In my opinion."
Iv been testing cargo and lost a lot with rented ships from events. But noticed even though I’ll client crash and my Corsair (biggest I have 😢) is stuck in an unknown. If I don’t claim it at some point it will appear home with everything on it. 😅
There's three major issues with the cargo hauling game play loop.
The 1st one is there's no real dynamic supply and demand. There's not enough product to justify The time.
Another major issue is due to 30k You just end up losing all your money. I've probably lost about three million this point due 30k.
The third major issue is going to be how to move all this cargo in the future onto the ships. It took me 2 hours to load. Is a hundred and fifty crates off of a crashed caterpillar. It's just not worth it. There's no way to identify the loot.. There's some major hurdles to overcome. In the logistics game play loop.
@@Brokenfang77 even with the 30k protection. I heard they reactivated that. I am definitely paying for the ramp crew to auto load if given the option
!00%, man. As a major hauler myself, I agree with all of your assessments. Now GIB Hull C, CIG!
Hull c no planet land makes it trash
yo! you should make an updated video now that tractor beams have been added to cargo ships
Yea I need to

I like my MSR. Did a upgrade from the adromeda. Its fly better and have more storage but the adromeda have bigger gun
Yeah, MSR is a little bit underpowered regarding weapons for a smuggler or "adventurer".
@@TangoDelta42 I hope that they could put 4 size 3 instead of 2 size 3 for the pilot in future updates. Also 8 missiles instead of 4
@@MGB2408 Even 4x S4 gimbled to S3 would be faire compared to the Conny or Corsair.
HULL A as S tier i imagine you dont fly it.... its horrible, the cargo bay of the Freelancer or Max isnt that harder to load and they fly MUCH MUCH better.
I have one as a loaner for the HULL C, its TERRIBLE.
What's about the ARGO RAFT ?
At the time of this video, the Argo raft was not really feature complete. Although it could hold Cargo You would have to load it from the kiosk. You couldn't use the tractor being to load items individually. But I know that they're reworked it. I just don't know if it's in this patch or the next patch, so I'll have to redo the video. Once it gets fixed. Hit me with a sub if you can brother.
Everything you said about Taurus applies to the C2, also, the C2 has the largest capacity short of a capital ship or hull c, that makes it S TIER ALL DAY!
The Herc’s are broken!! There is no way a ship like that should be able to have a turn rate battle with the Arrow
It flys like it’s made from polystyrene
It needs a huge nerf and will get one some day
@@0MetatronDude you're nuts, only a completely inept Arrow pilot couldn't out turn a Hercules! Cry some more ffs, the Hercules has huge engines, maneuvering thrusters and control surfaces, that's why it feels so good to fly. Please learn flight physics before commenting such ignorance. Google pitch, roll and yaw, and what axis they each work off of, while you're at it, get smarter, you can do it!
What about beginner cargo i.e. Nomad and smaller?
Nomad is Good, I just forgot to add it
ARGO RAFT ? does someone try it to give some opinion?
Nothing about the Corsair?
good point
No way the Hull A is top tier. Sorry. Nowhere NEAR enough cargo capacity to trump something like a C2 and performance characteristics are horrible. It is also VERY fragile on the ground unless they have addressed that. You may often come and find the ship on its top.
Don't forget that That the video is based off the 5 criteria's, which incorporate overall Fidelity, most amount of gameplay loops comcargo capacity, ease of use. , and overall expense.
I love the Hull A. First, it's one of the cheapest ship with a descent cargo capacity. You can start to do interesting deliveries with it.
Second, its interior is amazing for live. It has all you need and to be implemented in gameplay later...
Third, outside you can't carry vehicles it's easy to use combined with vultures or SCU boxes to move from a ship to it.
Last point, its incredible quantum capacity allowing you to cross entire systems without having to refuel! Just amazing!
@@Bombastic0013 Don't get me wrong.. I do like the Hull A... and I do agree with you that it's layout is great for doing true exploration game play or as a workhorse. Just that all these factors don't overcome what a handful it is to fly currently and how fragile it is on the ground. Perhaps they can address these issues when they come out with its big brother the Hull B.
I'll say this for the Hull A...it is damn convenient. I can't wait until they allow us to stick hoverbikes to the side of it. That will be epic.
Of course @@twelvewingproductions7508 bugs or issues can be a pain in this game as for example the delivery missions how they are actually... Working 50% time.
Where is the starfarer? Has more cargo than a good number of these ships =p
And the Carrack as, like the MSR, it’s used as a cargo hauler while players wait for game loops to be developed.
I have one, since ~ 2017 if I remember correctly.
It flies like a pregnant whale.
@@Kyle-sr6jm a conjoined pregnant whale
@@Kyle-sr6jm I don’t want to hear how you know this
No RAFT :(
What about the carrack for cargo?
I should have added it, but the problem is. It doesn't work well with the new salvage mechanic. It's very difficult to get the crates inside the ship and in their proper storage pod, It's kind of a s*** show. If you're just doing cargo missions where you're picking up loads and dropping them off. It's in the same ballpark as the Caterpillar for how it drives.
I feel so sad when you post stuff about the Freelancers, the DUR was my first ship, I loved it for what it was back in 2013, but now... I am crying. Its so outdated its not even fun, and people are starting to complain about cutlass and connies in need of a rework! Jesus chris! have you tried Freelancers?! The lancers need more love, 2 player ship not 4 seats and beds, 1 for turret and make it remote, and 1 pilot.
Yeah, brother, and they've been talking about updating it for at least 2 years.... It just takes so long for then it comes back around on vehicles
@@Brokenfang77 Lets hope that they are prioritizing ships for a bit now and make that backlog of reworks and gold standards up to date, now that they are moving people from sq42 over to the PU.

So you're saying I should buy the C2 and the M2 to harvest improved components off of to the C2? 😝
Nope, you Shouldn't buy anything. But what I'm saying is that the M2 is definitely faster and comes with major upgrades in the components. With the exact same physical storage comma. The c two does have more cargo storage if that makes sense..
